Oh that's great! Go Zulu Go Zulu!

I don't know who invented it but Adam's the first person that told me about it when we were settling in some of our more stressed out rescues/adoptions....works like a flippin charm!

yes, i am really, really, really, releived. i heard it from adam first too, but i didnt really think a lot about it until it came up again in the complete ball python. so i tried it and it really actually works! anyone who has a non-eating ball python, NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE NEWSPAPER! lol

Kevin@NERD taught me the crunched up newspaper trick probably 6 or 7 years ago now ... can't tell you how many times he's helped me out! ... If you don't have a copy of his book "The Complete Ball Python" yet ... get it! :D

No, not necessarily ... could also be temps, humidity, light cycle, preference for an alternate prey type or size, etc.

Re: Zulu Finally Ate! Yes! Yes! Yes!
Just crumple up small balls of newspaper and toss them all over the enclosure, lots of them. If stress was the issue and the snake settles in better for you (and it wasn't reacting to other issues as Adam stated) then just remember to remove the newspaper balls gradually over time so the snake doesn't get freaked out by them all suddenly disappearing one day.

Re: Zulu Finally Ate! Yes! Yes! Yes!
so im supposed to recheck all my temps and humidity and lighting issues..

then i assume give him a couple days to adjust to the posible corrections...

introduce prey...last eaten prey was a rat (smaller than a dollar bill for reference)... i bought a mouse 6 weeks ago to feed and have been introducing it on a weekly basis (sunday) and no go...should i find a rat?

then if he doesnt eat either of them ( this will take two week because i need to try the mouse then wait a week for the rat so as not to stress him out)

then if that doesnt work crumple up the news paper.

ps...I guess it might be really important to mention that i switched him to a new AP tank last week!! it bigger but muck darker and snake enjoyab;e than the aquarium he was in.

sorry for rambling please pick me apart and tell me whats right and wrong

well changing tanks could take him a lil while to adjust anyway but yeah recheck everything, change anything thats not right, give him time to adjust to any changes, try feeding the rat, then wait a week an try the mouse then try the newspaper

Re: Zulu Finally Ate! Yes! Yes! Yes!
When I moved Lily into the rack, she didn't eat for two weeks. It takes them awhile to get used to the new digs. They do not like change. I threw in the balled up newspaper (and actually still have some in there) and now she's back to eating.
