    Falkor & the Oracle pics
Sorry about posting that panic post in general, I didn't think to post it over here. I do know to post random corn pics here though, and I got some good ones the other day after he was feeling better. Falkor *loves* the sphinx statue in his tank, and likes to explore all over it as well as bask on it's feet. I try to keep the camera close at hand for when he does cute stuff like this.

That and his bonsai hide are his absolute favorites. Everything else is just in his way. Except for the occassionally useful water bowl.

Here's an older one too, I made this out of my favorite pic of him. This was taken shortly after he arrived from SMR and spruced up in Photoshop.

Thank you :) Some of our family members (outside of the household that is) are very squicky about snakes, so my fiancee and I brainstormed for the most harmless sweet lovable name possible to help subtly win them over. Who can resist a cute little luck dragon? It's one of our faves too. /(^v^)\

The Oracle was a lucky find on e-bay! He loves it too, it was perfect.

I really like that last picture, and the quote is very nice too. :D

I loved that movie as a kid, but I haven't seen it forever. I agree that statue couldn't be more perfect. :lmao:

Okay how many times can I say awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. That is so darned cute! He is a fantastic miami phase, one of my personal favorite of the many cornsnake morphs. Lovely enclosure you've got him in too it looks like.

Great pics...and great movie to name your critters after as well. My male BP's are Atreyu and Bastian....had a female named Moon Child...but she died.

Where did you find the Oracle statues? Those are way cool. :)

Thanks guys! Bastien, Moon Child, and Atreyu are awesome names, we almost named Falkor Atreyu. Glad I'm not the only 80s fantasy geek around here ;) The last pic was my fave. A magical moment I caught the same day we got him. It gives me all kinds of warm fuzzies.

It was a tough choice between a Miami Phase and a Hurricane Anery . They're both my faves of the corn colorations, and maybe we'll get a female Anery someday. :) They're all gorgeous though.

Ooh, here we go, I found the Oracle statue elsewhere! I had to look up Greek Sphinx rather than just Sphinx. /(^v^)\ Very cute.

Here's an old pic of Falkor's cage, actually I took this before we even got him. You can tell because the UTH isn't plugged in, lol. Between his preferences and us it's been rearranged a bit since, and we keep waffling on substrates. I might just end up switching over to Carefresh since we use that for the rabbits too.

The water dish is a fancy cat dish that just happened to beautifully fit the theme. :) Wish it was as easy to do the BP's tank all thematic with his name, but it's harder to find Addam's Family tank decor/pet dishes, lol.

If you want to go for an Adam's family theme. Just go for haunted houses, black, black and more black, and then see if there's a Lurch statue on good ole ebay. ;)

Geeze I want to get reincarnated as one of your pets! What a lovely enclosure for a corn as they like to do all that climbing and exploring.

Have you considered a nice aspen (ours we get is a very fine "chop" I guess you'd call it...no big chunks at all)? We use that with all our snakes and it's just fantastic stuff. Easy to spot clean, not large chunks so no worry about ingestion really, and feels lovely and soft (we do finger fluff it regularily though as our big heavy ball pythons tend to compress it and that interferes a bit with belly heat transmission). It's pretty cost effective too I've found.

I just might switch to aspen, although the Carefresh might be easier since we already use it for everyone else cept the kitty. Our birds and rabbits love it, and it's recommended for herps too, so not sure... but aspen looks a lot more comfy than the coconut husk we've been using! Last time we switched to the T-Rex snake chips, and Falkor completely spazzed and played the "floor is made out of lava" game till we put the darker coconut back in. So we're currently using both to ease him out of the coconut :weirdface He's such a weirdo, lol. /(^v^)\

I always loved the creative lengths a friend of mine goes to with her fish tank, and when we were finally setting up our first terrerium I went nuts. We went to art school together, so we're having fun with all the thematics. Her fish tank has a bizzare otherworldly quality to it that's a lot of fun. For Falkor, I went with an ancient Greek forest/Fantasia feel, and it's the second thing you see when you come in the apt. The first thing is a coffee table piled with creative chaos that looks awful, lol.

With Gomez I already have my eye on some cheap safe fake black roses from Micheals. Trying like hell to find a nice grey clay flower pot to chip into a hide, but everything I find is terri-cotta red... Hmm... :confuse: I know the snakes don't care, but it's fun. :D

Beautiful Viv for a lovely snake :)

I had to pipe up on this thread because when we lived in MI I had a samoyed (big white fluffy sled dog) and we named him Falkor because he *looked* like the Luck Dragon from The Never Ending Story. He was a great dog, loved him to pieces and had him for about 12 years before he died of natural causes. I could never get my dad to call him Falkor though, he'd always call him "velcro" <rolls eyes>

Awwh, thats so cute! He sounds like he was a real sweetie. Falkor is an adorable name. I know it makes more sense for white dogs and albino/snow snakes but Luck dragons are good to have around, no matter the color.

It's a 20L Critter Cage with a side mounted Zoo Med heater. :) Heres a pic of the UTI. We side mounted it mainly so it wouldn't slowly murder the table over time.
