Re: coldbloodedcafe OR rodentpro
I've used both, and have been happy with both. However, I like Cold Blooded Cafe better, with their packing. I tend to switch around and buy from these two, plus a few others.

Re: coldbloodedcafe OR rodentpro
I stopped using RP years ago after a couple of bad experiences with receiving heavily soiled rodents. A few of my snakes wouldn’t even eat them. I’ve heard similar complaints recently as well so I’m not sure how much they’ve changed, even though I hear from others that haven’t had any issues with them. I stick with CBC or Big Cheese and have never had any problems except BC is sometimes out of the medium and large rats I need. They’re usually restocked within a week. Perfect Prey is really good too but they’re just a tad more expensive. For example the rat pups at BC are $1.75 each and they’re $2 each at PP. CBC has pups for $1.40 each but they’re sold in packs of 50 but you can see if they’ll sell you just 25.

The rodents were stained and reeked of urine and feces.

For me, personally, when I ordered they both seemed fine. I only have 3 snakes, and all 3 have eaten RP stock with no issues. However, like El-Ziggy says, I have heard of numerous quality issues with RP. I guess if I had to select between those two companies, I would pick CBC.
With that said, besides these two, I have also ordered (and have been happy with) American Rodent Supply and The Big Cheese Rodent Factory. And, Reptile Deli, I never ordered online with them, but I have bought their feeders at a show, and they were good for me as well. Between the 3 snakes, and having a dedicated freezer for the feeders, I usually get about 50-60 rats in a purchase.
I've never ordered from Perfect Prey or Layne Labs, but I would like to give them a try as well.

I have only ever used RP of the two but based on reviews I've seen, CBC packages them a lot better. The only complaint I've ever had with RP is getting broken rodents, and my most recent order was really bad, many bags having 2-3 with heads broken off. Usually it's only 1-2 in an entire 2-4 box order.

Thanks guys I think i will go with CBC, I'm paying 5$ a fuzzy and my pet store buys bulk from rodents pro, thats what I been feeding my girl, still have 3 more fuzzy on hand and 13$ store credit with my local pet shop, I breed Crested Geckos and I sell them to her ....

It's funny. I have 3 snakes now, with a 4th coming in the week ahead. It obviously makes sense to buy online, if you can store and use the quantity. But... even when I only had one snake, with the cost of what these feeders are in a local pet store, it actually still cost less to buy a pack online, and store in the freezer, and then throw out leftovers if I had them over a year. A waste yes, but still cheaper. I was lucky enough, though, that I was able to pick up feeder packs at a show every so often. The local prices here range from the smaller rats being about $3 each to the larger being anywhere from $10-$15 each.
In previous times, I've posted to see if anyone living close enough to me were willing to go in with me on a purchase, to share shipping cost, but never had a bite.

Another factor to consider this time of year is the location of the vendor to decrease the chance of the feeders thawing during transit. If you're on the west coast then Layne Labs may be your best bet.
As an example I order feeder piglets for my larger snakes but the seller is in California. Even though the pigs are frozen, wrapped, and shipped in a well-insulated box with dry ice, since they take 5-6 days to arrive the pigs would likely thaw by the time the land on my doorstep if I placed an order today. So, I try to place a huge order in April and then I don't have to order again until October.

after looking at the prices and shipping cost, CBC is still better price for shipping cost, plus they have an I.G page and not afraid to show how they produce & house & feed there rats/mice looks clean all around. I will never have your problem lol, my local pet store, the owner i sell the geckos to , She buys EVERYTHING OFF YOU, from left over feeders to use tanks to use hides, water dishes, you name it. over all its good cause then im never stuck with nothing. i can sell or trade for store credit my choice..
Now how do i tell if a mouse is frozen burn from my freezer? cause i never even seen a frozen burn rat or anything... i would hate to buy a 25pk and my freezer [messes] it up....
