I don't know about VE RHP's, but I have 3 Pro Products panels (2 of which are about 4 years old). Pro Products are known to be both solid and reliable. Not sure what the price comparison is, however, to the VE. I have NEVER had a problem with any of the panels, and the temps have been relatively on point.

With that said, I just called Pro Products today because I need 3 new heat panels for new enclosures. Due to supply chain shortages (most likely due to COVID), they are at least 8 weeks behind on orders. And, they re currently not taking any new orders. They ask that you try them again in about 8 weeks. So... if you need something quick, Pro Products is probably not going to be for you.

Hoping to hear other responses... because I too need the heat panels, and need them soon.

I have 3 Pro Products panels and 2 unknown. I like how the Pro Products are low profile compared to the other two I have. I have no complaints with the service of any of them. The other two I have are in my PVCcages enclosures and came with them. I don't know the brand but they are the same style as the VE. They are deeper than the ProProducts but are in taller cages for my arboreal snakes so they work fine.

I'm looking into buying dinner more enclosures and PVCcages is out of heat panels as well.

This thread shows how I mount the probes over letting them dangle.

It's about a 25 30$ dollar difference, pro heat cost more, but that not a problem.
Plus either way I will have to wait. My snake is only a baby 91grams it won't be a while until I can order before she can go into a T10 , but I'll probly order it soon though, wait time is months, but even still, she will not be big enough for it yet.

This is what the screws look like on top of the enclosures. I have a Pro Products heat panel in my T10 and haven't had any issues. Can't speak to VE products but if I had to order more panels I'd still go with Pro Products even with the wait.

Good luck. I don't think they'll take orders now, but if they do go ahead and buy now, so even if you have to wait at least that wait will start now. Also... incase you don't know, if you're going to get a T10, you can have Pro Products ship the panel to Animal Plastics direct, and they'll install it for you. That's what I did in both my enclosures.

Do you know the availability and wait times (if any) for the VE panels?

Can anyone answer this question, since I want the T10, and my baby is only 91 grams just over a month old, about how many more months would I have to wait, to put her in a T10? Without stressing her out?

I know you can order a center divider ($25.00) to cut the enclosure length in half, but I don't think you can use a basking shelf with that

but you might be able to order the basking shelf to add after you remove the center divider.

I know my last AP order I was told 26 weeks for delivery, So it's going to take a while to get one

I spoke with the lady on the phone for like 30 yesterday, not going to add the shelf cause If I choose to remove it down the line, I will be left with a bunch of holes in the back, she told me this. I got all my questions out the way with her, and even the VE RHP questions, incase I was to go that route, but I think I want the pro heat .....

My T8 I bought with the divider AND the shelf. Unless they changed design, if you get the divider you will actually get 2 separate shelves, so they CAN go in with the divider. And, when you remove the divider, you would then have 2 shelves next to each other.

I like the shelve, but I don't really use it anymore. I think there are cooler more natural looking items you can add inside for climbing or basking.

Just out of curiosity, if the T8 is 24" Deep how wide was the shelf in there?

I just went looking for the shelf, but can't seem to find it. The T8 is 48" long by 25" deep. The shelf, if I remember correctly, the one used with the divider, each shelf is about 22" long by about 5" deep. I will try and look for it later. Could be deeper, but I honestly don't remember.

Disregard that last post. I just found the shelves. Each one is 23" long by 8x deep.

I can't answer your question about the Blackbox shelf, but the ones from Animal Plastics are just a piece of PVC board cut to size, and standard shelf holders are used to install them, just like you would on a regular home wall. The point being, you can just as easily pickup a small PVC or plastic board from a home improvement store or hobby store and make your own.

I've never used a Pro Heat RHP so I can't comment on them but I've heard good things from other people. One thing to be wary of with VE panels is that they smell terrible when they are new and need to be outgassed before you put your snake into the enclosure. If you get a VE, wipe down the RHP with a damp cloth and take it outside and let it burn on full blast for 72 hours or as long as it takes to get rid of the smell before installing it.

Not sure if this is necessary with Pro Heat RHPs, but if you smell any fumes I'd recommend doing the same thing.

Pro heat said it will take about 3 weeks to have the RHP ready, But i have not ordered yet, as we all now i am new owner to ball, its was born on 6/7/21 she is about 91 grams, tomorrow will be her 5th meal, and my first time feeder her, IF i was to order now, about what size would be appropriate for her to be in a T10?
about how many grams or how long?
or would she be ready to go in there after 1yr?

I love my Raptile Basics panels. I think now they're made by VE. VE creates a great product and I have alot of trust in them. I have one Pro Heat panel and I've never been a fan. They're very rough and may possibly hurt the snake. Not sure if the recent design has changed or not. With that being said, both panels have not failed for the last 7 years that I've had them.

Order your T10 now an heat. It could be a year before the T10 is delivered. The wait sucks but it is what it is.

    From AP website:
LEAD TIMES | Animal Plastics (apcages.com)

"Current ESTIMATED lead times = 18-34 weeks or longer in some cases for all units except "quicker ship" items."

I have cages ordered for snakes that aren't hatched yet. You'll be happy with any AP cage you get.

    Good luck!
