What is LTR short for? Haven't seen that before. Some kind of ratsnake?
I'm going to say "no, probably" since I don't know what that is. :P

Yeah, no, definitely not a texas rat. Went for something a little more even-tempered. :)

Here's a hint: it's in the boa family ;).

Re: New addition incoming...
How exciting! I was about to ask if it was something in the boa family. My guess would be a Central American (or Central America-adjacent) boa, with a rainbow boa or a rosy boa as a wild card.
Whoever arrives will be in good hands. You appear to be taking wonderful care of your snakes so far, and I'm sure this newcomer will be no exception.:gj:

New little baby made it home! Welcome, Inej!

Will do a full intro/possible progression thread in a bit.

We must have replied at the same time, haha! Thank you for saying that, I do my best.
She is none of those, and since she's home and I've posted a picture, I suppose I should reveal species.... lol. She is a Candoia paulsoni, Solomon Island ground boa, white phase. She's in shed right now (of course)!

Haha, we must have!
Very cool new addition! :D I wish you the best of luck with her and I'll be watching her progression with interest. paulsoni are the Candoia that have tempted me the most -- they're very neat little snakes, and the patterns they sport aren't like anything else.

I really love the variety of color there is in paulsoni. To be honest, if I hadn't found her first, I probably would've gone with one of the red individuals because they're almost equally as striking as the white-phase to me. I'll be sure to post lots of pictures of her if only for your sake ;).

Oh yes, please post photos! :D I would be quite happy to live my Candoia dreams vicariously through you. There definitely won't be any new snakes around here for quite a while -- now that I've properly crunched the numbers, it's pretty clear that my requisite caging upgrades are going to eat up the rest of this year's and most of next year's snake money. I should have some very happy snakes if everything works out, though. Basking bulbs, UV, and naturalistic cages for everyone! (So more or less the heat and light regimen you have for Mazikeen, haha :P)

Wow, what a neat choice- do keep us updated- :D

Oooohh, you'll have to post pics! I'm excited for you! Maze loves hers. Actually caught her doing a tiny bask today before she went back to sleep.

I will! Looks like you already found Inej's thread, but for anyone that stumbles on this thread first, here's the link to that.

Oh, there will most certainly be pictures! Potentially soon at that -- I anticipate placing the order for Pandora's 4'x2'x2' as early as next week, and the company I'd be ordering from (Custom Reptile Habitats/Maximum Reptile) currently has a 3-4 week lead time for the model I'd like (the Evolution 4). The only thing I'm really waffling over at this point is how much I'd like to spend on functional décor, ie. basking ledges, cork/wood, and fake plants. The more I spend on décor, the longer it'll take me to re-pad the snake budget for Kuzco's eventual upgrade and the solarmeter I should really already have by now.
My goal is to switch everyone over to (what I'm calling) full spectrum heating and lighting over time. I started a thread for the process in the Caging Forum the other day, though the only thing there right now is an angsty ramble. Feel free to talk snake heating and lighting with me there if you're so inclined. ;)

She is really something! I love all those speckles and her colors. I bet she is going to be a jaw dropper when she gets a bit older.

Those look like sweet enclosures, especially since they allow external mounting. Was just thinking that 2 feet of height's a little short with all the lighting, but if it's mounted externally I withdraw my complaints lmao. I'll have to chat you up on your thread sometime. I'll be building more enclosures myself eventually, when (if) wood prices ever go down.

Thank you! I'm already really happy with her, so I can only imagine she'll get better from here.
