New to site: this is my first girl.

My first Ball Python. A Lesser Mojave Bel around 300g.
I've had her for a few days and I am in love with her. She is so gentle and beautiful.

I'm trying to decide on a name.
My first thought was Gabrielle (female version of gabriel since she is an angel)

Lucy (I know very unoriginal)

Bella (also unoriginal but I like it)

Do you all have anything?

She’s gorgeous! What an amazing first snake! You chose wisely :) .

She looks like an Athena, Aphrodite, Sasha Fierce, or Pearl to me. My girl Pearl has a nice ring to it. :)

You could go the fun and whimsical route with "Snowball" or "Blizzard". (?). ... Just a thought.

Beautiful snake though! I've been out of the hobby for a while and just got back into it this week with a young Banana Black Pastel male. I was originally going there to get a BEL as well (Lesser X Lesser) but I fell for the colour and pattern on my new little guy.

Or you can do "opposites" like "Melanie". ;) (as in- no melanin...)

Or since these are also known as "royal" pythons (Python regius), you might give her your favorite royal family name?

Whatever you call her, she'll still be beautiful. :welcome:

I have a white leopard gecko named blizzard. But I could be something else.
I came in a hair of getting a Banana Fire Mojave Pastel. There are so many beautiful snakes out there! Before I started looking for one I thought all there where was the normal ones you see at big box pet stores and albinos.

I want to get a male later, 3 years maybe, and am doing my research now to see what the best pairing would be.

Oh Royal names... I could call her Daenerys Targaryen. I know game of thrones is going out of style though lol.

Thanks for the compliment. I can't help but stare at her when I take her out. Just something about those solid white scales that mesmerizes me.

You may want to consider ordering in bulk online. You’ll always get the right size feeders, make fewer trips to the pet store, and it’s usually less expensive.

What combo is your Bell?
I'm debating on if I breed later what I'd want to breed with. I'm thinking either mojave or mystic to get more BEL along with others. Maybe GHI or clown.

Well she "bask" one and I've not seen her out of her hide again lol. I know that's normal for ball pythons so not worried about that.
She has eat multiple meals and I swear gotten bigger already.

Fighting the urge hard not to get 50 more lol. There are so many beautiful morphs out there. I did not even know. I have banned myself from morph market for at least a year. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
Will not get another one until I have had her at least one year to make sure that I know I want multiple BPs.

Well I had her out for a while just getting her more used to being held. She was curled up on my chest as I was watching a movie. All the sudden she started moving and stretched out. I thought she was just getting restless or moving to get more comfortable. .............. Nope. ............ She pooped. A massive poop. ..... On me. ....... It just kept coming and coming out. [emoji15][emoji1785]

So good news, she had her first poop [emoji90]

I am now slightly mortified. My clothes and a blanket are now in the washing machine and I got a shower. I just hope she doesn't make a habit of this.

Anyway I thought I'd share since you all are probably the only ones that will get a kick out if the story.

Been there, done that. :rofl: The activity + your warmth sure helped. :rolleyes: So from now on, when you want to handle, keep in mind just where she is in her digestion, & have a glance at her tail: if it appears a little puffy or bloated above the cloaca, you might not want to cuddle up or wear your best clothes, lol. Unfortunately snakes can be quite stealthy about when they're about to do this- but if they're laying flat & you see the tail raise slightly, RUN! (-for a bag or a drop-cloth, hahahaha!)

Mine was an adult rosy boa...a very innocent-looking* snake, if ever there was one. (*along with BPs of course) It was winter & my snake crawled into my shirt to snuggle, which I thought was pretty cute until I felt this massive cascade of semi-liquid warmth down my back, inside my shirt! :O So don't feel bad, it's nothing personal...we humans can be very "inspiring" for our pet snakes. :D

No, rosy boas are small desert-dwellers- not over 36-40" long & about 1.5" diameter. But it was more than enough "sharing"...:rofl:

Just like the saying: Some days you're the pigeon, & some days you're the statue. ;)

This new boy I got is super active compared to my white girl LOL
He is all over the place and has his head up stretching all over when I have him out. Cleo is happy to find a warm spot and just sit there for an hour.
This is from when I first got him (in the parking lot at fedex). I need to get some new pics if he will hold still long enough.
