    Mia
This morning I woke up and went to turn on the Cresties light (more for the plants than them) and usually I love this time because they are all out and wondering around. This morning the lid was slightly jarred open and two of the three were missing. Any ideas where I should start to look? My house is huge and the two MIAs are only a couple inches long. Any help would be appreciated.

look up. they probably have climbed upward and found a place to hide and sleep for the day. since they will be sleeping right now it may be easier to find them tonight when they are active. you can turn out the lights and sit in the room with a flashlight and listen for them to start rustling around. they may also migrate toward anything that is warm--a light, the top of the fridge (if that's closeby), etc. good luck and keep us updated.

Or the back of the fridge! It's pretty warm back there. In which room were they let loose, and was the room sealed by a door?

No man. I have a huge house too. The room they were in is the living room where I have a beautiful 55g octagon setup on a wood stand in the corner. That room is in the middle of the $%^& house. I'll look on the back of the fridge. Wish me luck.

Well, unless your house gets cold at night, I would't be too worried about much bad happening to them in that respect. Make sure you tell your parents/roommates/dog not to leave any windows or doors open (ha, not in Syracuse at this time of year, but you never know!). I know it's common sense, just trying to remind you...

Good luck, man! Keep us updated, and get up a couple hours early for work with a book or something, and keep your ears open!

    Re: Mia
you might want to leave some cgd or baby food out for them on top of their enclosure. that might lure them down and also ensure that they have something to eat while they are out and about. good luck!

Believe it or not I got up this morning to go to work, and I have been creeping around the house every morning doing a quick search, and I glanced around the living room after turning on the lights and didn't see anything. I was about to leave to go to work and he was sitting on the window sill. I don't know how I saw him he blended right in, but I did. He was so cold and skinny and dry. I misted him, then misted his tank really good, I made up some CGD real quick and by the time I got back he was licking the leaves in his tank furiously and jumped down as soon as I put the CGD in to eat. I am so happy, thanks for all the support.

you might want to make a humid hide and/or leave a very shallow dish of water for him to drink out of for the next few days to rehydrate himself. sounds like he will recover from his little excursion just fine. :) i'm keeping my fingers crossed that the other one will show up soon for you too!

They are in a 55g octagon that is fully alive with soil and plants. The humidity in it is like a rainforest LOL. I've never seen it under 65% (more like 75%), but I'll continue to it mist it bunches during the day so the little guy will rehydrate fast.

On to the next one, where is that little sh........

Wonderful! Glad to hear you found one now I hope the other is close by. I think if your cat nailed it and then threw up, you'd have likely seen some evidence of the remains. Hopefully you will find the other soon.

I hope you are right Jo, but I didn't clean it up...my girlfriend did. So, I never had the chance to examine it myself. Cross those fingers!!!

even so i think she would have noticed. cats don't really chew things up that well. i think she would have definitely seen parts or pretty conclusive evidence.

Yup, little scrapper he is. He was the biggest of the bunch and is still doing great too! Little dehydrated, but I fixed that. I was really worried too, he was by far the prettiest of the three. Glad they are all home!

11 days out, wow can't imagine not eating for that long. I go 11 minutes and I'm hungry :D

    Re: Mia
Oh excellent! I was so hoping that the cat didn't have him for a snack!

Maybe he found something to nibble on. A guy at Mike's work had an sub-adult cornsnake get loose. Nine full months later his wife, who btw does NOT like snakes, walks into the diningroom and there is Mr. Cornsnake snoozing in a sunbeam coming in through the window. Didn't look that much worse for the wear either apparently. They hadn't seen any indication of his presence at all around the house, then suddenly he's there again LOL.

Oh, that's awesome! That's funny that he actually jumped onto your shirt, too! Sounds like he recognizes you; you've probably got one hell of a friend there in that Crestie :D
