2019 1.0 Caramel Jaguar Coastal

Meet Hugo, I got him today from Nick.
He hatched 6/12/19 and I weighed him at 83 grams.

Feisty noodle, tagged me at least 5 times. My Bredli never tagged me, LOL. I like him anyways. Will have to work with him like JM did with his Rockhampton Coastal.

Congrats dude! That’s a great looking animal! Just keep up gentle handling for short periods and you’ll get past the biting. My rockhampton hasn’t tagged me in a while now and even seems curious to come out on her own when I open the tub

I didn't know EXACTLY. It was still a pleasant surprise!!

Was that the pos Super Carmel Jag he had on the site? I continuously window shop on there and things have been flying off of his available animals page!

They all seem to start out with a little spice but from what I've seen once they settle they are good to go for the long haul.

Hugo ate for me 4 time and shed, so he came out tonight for some bonding time. It went well, my son was counting... and I got tagged 9 times, LOL.
He calmed down after a few minutes and I got the phone for some pictures.

Good lord! Does that animal glow in the dark too? He looks great! He'll calm down in time as you work with him. My Brisbane is already a lot better but still a fast mover and a tad twitchy

They almost all calm so keep at it.

The electric glow is something else! They don't all have that. Good on you for snatching up a beauty.

The first 3 bites did draw blood, the other 6 did not, I think his jaws were tired.. LOL.

Hahahhahaha. Fiesty little guy!!

Cornell got me, I was texting and he was in my left hand. He must not have liked my thumb moving as it typed and he tagged my thumb. Lesson learned.

LOL, I think they don't like thumbs. My son got tagged in the thumb also.

Here's my little devil.
He's eating like a champ. I can wiggle the mouse in front of him or just drop it inside tub and he goes and finds it, he doesn't care.
He still bites me 5+ times every handling, but it doesn't hurt. It has actually desensitized me, I'm no longer scared of a bite. :D

Hugo is coming along splendidly Ricky. Have you noticed any of the jag wobble? I hope he gets over that senseless biting soon. Since he's eating so well for you it might be a good time to try offering him a rat fuzzy or pup and see how he responds. Most of my carpets transitioned seamlessly to rats and now they'll eat whatever I give them. Mine are all too big to eat mice exclusively but I'll throw them a jumbo mouse, chick, or asf as a snack sometimes.

Thank you for the tip Ziggy. Looking at my Bredli's feeding records, I switched him from mice to a rat fuzzy when he hit 100g. in weight. I think Hugo could handle a fuzzy right now.

I agree. I switched my Bredli and JCP at 100 grams. They both take rat fuzzies with ease. Fernie (Bredli) hit what so far seems like a growth spurt since switching. I swear she's bigger every time I get her out.
Cornell (JCP) is due for his 4th rat fuzzy tonight. Time will tell if he hits a spurt too.

As much as I love how cute they are when tiny I'm excited to see them get some size on them.

Awesome, Ricky!!! Simply incredible. Nick had a super caramel jaguar coastal at the time that I picked up Alpha that was originally my top pick. After further conversation I decided to go with a Bredli, primarily because the colors were different than what I had. That said, what a beauty yours is and I wish I had one of each!

Thank you, Alpha is outstanding. Cool as can be. I was due to update his photos here after New Years but between the new baby and coronavirus everything kinda of went sideways! However, checking back in and seeing new additions like this is super fun. I really love the look of your Caramel and what a great addition to your Bredli. Of course, Alpha ate last week and has been hiding out in his hide, likely in order to shed, so I am patiently waiting to get a new photo op.

They know what they need to do. Meanwhile, I've been walking by his enclosure 9-10 times a day this week hoping he was ready to finally peak out!

Cornell (JCP) is in shed right now too. It's his first shed with me so I'm super stoked to see him all shiny and new.

But yup, he's been in his hide the last few days too. He was deep in blue when I checked on him today, so I've got a few days to wait still.
