    BP Wont Shed
My ball python started the blue phase 2 weeks ago and it cleared up maybe 2-3 days after and then the skin got all wrinkly. This is the first shed with me as the owner and im starting to get a little worried because i cant find anything on the internet about it. As soon as he got blue eyes i raised his humidity to 70 and been keeping at it ever since but no sign of removing the old skin. Can anyone help me out?
Blue phase start date was 2/25

Give him a few more days to pop the shed.

Shed cycle last on average 10 to 14 days.

Just give the viv a decent spray two or three times daily until you see the shedded skin ... usually in a messy clump under one of the hides ..

How does it look now though ?

Does it look ok or is it wrinkly??

Did you try spraying well three times daily ?

Have you looked carefully under each hide ??

A photo would be helpful if you’re still worried .

Agree, was thinking the same thing, in which case, waiting for the snake to shed is pointless...they NEED help at this point.

It's not that he "won't shed"...it's that he can't. Not by himself, without a lot of help.

So that photo isn't of him currently? (if so, I'm glad)

As for why this happens, it's likely a combination of factors, & you need consider all of them, & fix anything that needs fixing.

-cage humidity not adequate and/or drinking water unavailable; enclosure over-heated (snake cannot avoid the high temperatures- what is your temp. range, hi & low?)

-feeding while in shed cycle (digestion requires good hydration...so does shedding...some snakes do not "multi-task" very well, so it's best NOT to feed them if in shed cycle)

-poor overall health (how long have you had this snake? it may be from previously poor care, poor nutrition)

-parasites (internal, ie. "worms", or external, ie. mites) all steal nutrition & water from a snake's body, leaving them with poor growth & trouble shedding (check for mites, get his stool tested)

You should get his stool checked first chance you get. He might need de-wormed, that would make a huge difference, not just in his sheds, but his survival.
I trust you've looked closely & made SURE he has no mites?

Yeah forsure no mites. Previous owner wasnt terrible but he wasnt giving him the attention he needed... he fed him fuzzies and once a month when i got him he started downing hoppers once a week but he’s been off feed for a month due to this shed
