    Boaphile cages
I see that most people seem to prefer AP cages over boaphile cages mainly due to cust service. Has anyone not recieved their order or recieved the wrong item or is the "bad cust. service" the only reason for poor reviews? Are the cages good quality? I Think the Boaphile cages just look amazing and beautiful. Maybe the AP site's pics just dont do them justice, but they arent as pleasing to the eye to me.

Does boaphile make quality stuff? I dont mind waiting 4 or even 8 weeks if it takes that long. I just dont want to be disappointed with poor craftsmanship or a mistake in my order. Thanks everyone for your help. Im planning on getting the 321 Townhouse x 2. It has the divider so i can keep my 1.1 het pair in one and my normal male in the other, then get a 3rd when they get bigger. Thanks again everyone.

I love my 4' boaphile cage. Their prices are better than AP, and mine came on time and everything. It's a quality cage.

I just got my rack a couple weeks ago, and I love it. The main issue with Boaphile is that when quoted a 5 week ship period it took like 7 to get to me. Not a huge issue, but he's not great about returning email either. I knew that going in, so I wasn't disappointed. I would order from them again, but never if under a time constraint.

I chose to go with Boaphile since they had recessed belly heat and used flexwatt. Plus no assembly!!! I'm not too talented and I just wanted something that I could plug in, and it's wonderful. It's very sturdy, and I was impressed with how nice it was. Overall the experience was mostly good.

I dont like the arrogience(sp) and the time frame as well. With my dealing with Mr. Roone I ordered a 421D and had some questions so I called 4-5 times and set probably 8 emails to them with no answer. Paypal had kicked my payment back to me because he had not accepted it within the alloted time frame(I think 30 days) and then he emails me wanting me to send the money back.. UMMMM NO!!!! I then started dealing with AP. Boaphiles cages are to light and if a big female red tail locks her tail on the corner it is just going to drag the cage off whatever it is sitting on.. Call Animal Plastics, they actually want your business and will not treat you as inferior...

Oh man too much to think about. All these complaints about boaphile makes me weary. The AP cages actually look quite similar. I think i would like the hinged doors better. I really liked the idea of a built in cage divider. I see it as a more diversified enclosure. My BPs are small now and could share a divided cage. Does AP provide any kind of divider or could one be rigged up at all?

One question on heating for either of these cages. Boaphile has me all confused with this low wattage flexwatt stuff. Can i use the flexwatt I got from MGR with either of these cages? I assume I can. Is this low wattage flexwatt stuff good or bad or marketing hype? Thank you all, AP is sounding better and better

One more thing.... Anyone know where i can find some nice pics of AP cages? Thanks.

All flexwatt is 'low wattage'. It's the same exact stuff.

I haven't personally had the problem of my boa pulling her cage down with her. (she has tried to bring my fan down on top of me though, and my bookshelf!)

    Re: Boaphile cages
I dont have any plans to get a boa or anything bigger than my BPs so thats not a concern. 2 321T boaphiles with black hinges comes to 560 shipped. 3 T3 APs shipped comes to 540 shipped. I still would like to try and divide the cages if i can find any info about it. Its difficult to come up with a plan without detailed pics. And im not sure if i should get swinging doors or sliding doors and acrylic or glass doors. If anyone has some pics it would be great! Thanks for the replys!

Acrylic is stronger but scratches easier than glass. I like the hinged door just fine.

I ordered my Boaphile rack on the 7th of Oct, and received it on the 11th of Nov. The main thing that I wasn't happy about was.... (drumroll) the customer service. :) I, too, was warned about this, and was told that if you can fight through all of the non-customer service type issues, that I would be very happy with the final product. And I am. It's a great rack, and I can't wait to start filling it up. I DO plan on placing another order from them in the future (probably the next two weeks or so), with no plans on receiving anything until after Christmas. Maybe that way, I won't be so disapointed when I don't receive the rack until right before Christmas.

    Re: Boaphile cages
Last night I emailed AP with a divider question and they responded today with some great news. The cages look quite similar to me with the only real major difference being the assembly (I have no problems building things). It raises one question though. THe boaphiles are glued/welded creating a watertight seal (or so im lead to believe). This would not seem to be true for the AP cages. Has anyone had any issues with that or would making a liner or something be a practical option. Or do they come together tight enough so that it is a moot point. AP is also looking very appealing due to the fact i can get 3 T3s cheaper than 2 321Ts (with black hinges). I still have time, just trying to decide whats best.

What did you end up getting? I am going through a lot of the same questions that you have here and did not see this thread until today? Did you find out your question on the water tight seal (I would have never thought of that)?

    Re: Boaphile cages
AP told me that they will come with glue to create a seal. AP also included a divider for their T3 model for an extra 25 bucks. THey sent me an email yesterday telling me my order shipped and the Fedex tracking pages says delievery is expected tomorrow!! I will post on the final results tomorrow night when i get them. So far their reputation precedes them. Great customer service, answered all my questions and I ordered over the phone due to my special requirement (divider for the cage).

I understand where you are comming from phoenix. I really really really wanted the boaphile 321Townhouse enclosures. THey just look soooo sharp and boaphile has a really nice website with lots of info and pix and options and just everything. APs website is quite lacking compared to boaphiles, but in the end I gotta take the advice of of the people with experience. Do I want to wait up to 2 months to get my cages? AP sent mine in 8 days. Do i want to wait days and weeks for replys to my emails and phonecalls, AP responded same day for both my emailed questions and my called-in order. AP really lives up to their reputation as far as customer service goes, I'll get back to you on their quality tomorrow.

the glue they sent with mine was 3m black silicone adhesive you can see the bead in my cage pic's her if you look in the top corner. http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=26770

very nice barely noticeable and more than enough to seal the whole cage. im ordering a new biger ap cage 6 footer with a devider for my 2 dragons. they will have all the room to play and if i need to seprate them it will be easy.

    Re: Boaphile cages
Hey great thanks! The wait would be not fun but really it is the fact that the light can only go inside which makes me a little nervous about the boaphiles. I have just heard that they could wrap the bulb and burn themselves or just break it --- either way -- I want her safe. So that has been my main concern with boaphiles. Since I keep my house in the upper 60s -- I do have to use multiple heat sources to ensure her temp is comfy.

I will look forward to how the new set up is and will check in tomorrow....I would love to make a decision by Monday and get something on order.

Thanks again!! This is really a great forum!

the light sorce is inside the ap cage as well. it is a fluresent fixture with a high grade silent (no hum baslist) it gives off little or no heat. once again if you look to the top of the pics i posted you will see the white fixture mounted to the top of the cage. it is quite well though out. theres no way ginger can get in contact with the bulb even if she tryed and if some how she did no way for her to get burned by it. hope all this helps. its a big desision and my set up cost alot but its her home for a better part of 25 to 30 years if im lucky. i think its worth it to do it right...

I love my ball room rack from boaphile. The only thing I disliked was that I was supposed to get an email letting me know when my rack would ship....I never got an email. But the rack showed up, and it works great. It did also take about 7 weeks to get to me, but I was expecting that would happen :(

A quick google search will get you the websites. Though with everyone referring Animal Plastics as AP so much I couldn't find the site at first either when I looked many moons ago.

    Re: Boaphile cages
Well, my package was delivered to my parents' at about noon today. I picked it up and took it home (its a pain getting packages at my appartment) and upon opening it up i discovered that there is only one cage! I was expecting 2 so i felt sorta let down. I got to thinking they may have just sent the first one early because the 2nd one is a special order with a divider.

Anyway, all the pieces are undamaged as it was packed very well. It has a page of instructions, I think some pictures would have made the instructions a little better, but its not very complicated anyway. Hopefully assembly goes well, im gonna work on it after lunch and Ill post (with some pics) with the final result!

JT- Have you gotten your second cage? And how was the assembly? Asking because I just ordered my AP this week. Decided on it mainly because I need to use an additional heat source (lamp) to keep the temp right so did not like the idea that the heat lamp woudl be inside of the boaphile cage (just had nightmares about her wrapping it and breaking). Went with the AP and had a great customer service on the phone. These forums really helped!!!
