    Meet Riley
Here's the next snake that will be joining our happy little growing snake family. Riley is a 100% het for orange ghost male, hatched August 05 by Amad Osman (Oz) of OzzyBoids. We're really pleased to be adding this nice little male to our future breeding plans and dreams. Riley means courgeous and valiant (of course you know I know what his name means LOL).

The first very small step towards my own personal dream of a caramel glow one day.

Wow, I just checked his site out. That is the best looking site I've seen yet! He looks like he's selling out too. I'd hate to be his competition...phew.

    That's one cool BP, congrats!!!

Wow! That's just great. I completely understand the need to move. I feel like I need another house with an extra room just for my snakes! I can't wait until I have a room full of racks....that'll be awesome.

Thanks, we're quite happy with this male het. He was one of the last available from Oz this year. I'm looking forward to having him home and giving Malachi a male rack buddy at some point LOL....nice for him to not be the only male in the ball group.

I'm still in awe of the internet giving Mike and I access to all the wonderful breeders out there!

What a pretty, pretty baby! He's so tiny!! I love his name too! Why is that your males have names I can spell and pronounce, but not your girls? :P

    Re: Meet Riley
Mmmmmm Robin, that would be because my girls are all princesses (as they should be being Royal Pythons) so have snooty, hard to say names LOL! (j/k)

Actually I just pick the names that seem to suit them each and this little fella just looked like a Riley to me and it fit into our theme rather nicely.

You'll be happy to know at some point I'm naming my next female Davina (if it suits her) as I found that one looking up names for you and just love it! And it's easy to spell and say!!!!! whooooooohoooooooo!

I still have to look up how to spell Saoirse's name half the time...but you can blame Mike for that one...he picked it from my list due to it's meaning (freedom/liberty).

Well, drat! I guess Davina's out for my girl!

Just kidding! Right now leaning towards Sierra or Hershey, but she keeps looking at me like she wants a different name (from her picture) but I just don't know what it is yet! LOL

Oh, and that dark female we both like a lot? Will said someone's inquired about her this week, but hasn't put a deposit on her yet.

Anyway, if I get a second one, I plan to name the second one Echo.

Awww thanks Adam! You're opinion holds a lot of weight with Mike and I about these things. I'm sure both Malachi and Riley will be wonderful males to raise and one day sire some stunning babies.

Oh btw, Malachi is coming along beautifully and I can't think of a thing to post about him LOL. He's literally that easy to raise that I've not a question about that darling boy! Eats, poops, pees, getting nice to handle...a wonderful no muss, no fuss perfect young snake.

Your herp family seems to growing rather large and at a fast pace too. I remember when you got your first BP and now you're on your seventh, LoL. Can't wait to see the babies you produce...

Thanks, it seems ages ago and also just yesterday we got little Rionach, then took in Kyna. Happy me with my two little girls. Little did I know fate was about to put a few more snakes in our path and they'd all end up females. I like fate!

Now with the purchase of the het albino male from Adam and now this next het hypo from Oz, I feel like the first tiny steps are being made towards the day we see an egg from one of our girls pip.

Speaking of that folks....measured and weighed Big Brannagh today empty (prior to feeding night)...she's 48 inches and a nice 1820 grams....Orlah is 46 inches and 1450 grams....come on next year!

Oh never forget Becky's sweet BCI Rauri. I'm glad fate brought him to us too as he's taught us so much about big sweet snakes.

Thanks Raz! I'm very lucky that Mike and I share this hobby and passion for snakes, especially ball pythons. Seems most of our kids are picking it up as we have the oldest with her own handsome male creamsicle cornsnake, the younger daughter is very close to receiving her new female albino nelson's milksnake, and our oldest son is contemplating what snake he feels ready to take on.

So far the only family hold out is Mikey, age 4 who just looks at all these snakes and then wistfully says..."but I wanted a puppy!"

    Raz,

My DBF isn't really fond of snakes either, refuses to touch or hold Kashmire, but will sit on the couch with me when I'm holding him. So far he hasn't said no more snakes, but then he's thinking about the potential vacation money we can make in the future (although he doesn't realize how FAR in the future! LOL). He knows I'm getting one or two females in January and then at least one male het (maybe 2) in the spring/summer. Until I get a rack, to save space, that will probably be all for a little while.

    Robin,

Every time I even mention that a certain reptile (be it snake or lizard) looks cute - he always says NO MORE CRITTERS ... reckon there's any way I could hide a teensy little 4 ft viv in the house where he won't notice it? :giggle:
