Wow, that sucks. Too bad you don't live around here, my dad could probably get it back for you. He's done it before.

My mom did that to my computer on accident once.. I wasn't amused.

    Re: Aaarrrrrrrrrgggggg!!!!!!!!
Sorry to hear that. You should look into a data recovery software that you could use to get ur information back. I have never tried this though and do not know if it will work for you. Did you delete the partition or did you just delete the files from them?

Looks like we both posted at the same time. If you deleted the partition, I'm not sure if you can recover ur data. I would try any recovery tool that came with ur emachine.

A partition is the amount of space that you allocate to create a drive. Like if you have a 100Gig drive you could partition it into two halfs and format it to have a C: and D: drive. Did you buy the machine new? Did it come with any cd's? You should at least be able to reinstall ur software again with those cd's.

    aight its long and complicated

i got the original machine from my brother in law and it had 120 Gig on it and all was well and happy

then i got it into my head that since my mom wanted a new hard drive for our family computer i would give her that one and take the brand new 320 gig harddrive

thats when it all went to pieces i installed it and was going to put windows on it and accidentaly shut down the process half way through so when i started it up again it said to delete the partition to install so i did

then i realized it was the other hardrive(the 120) and deleted all my stuff and now the 320 is all divided up and nothing is working

    Re: Aaarrrrrrrrrgggggg!!!!!!!!
Did you remove the 120 first? So nothing is working on the machine?

Don't feel too bad, I've accidentally wiped out hard drives(notice the 's') too. Thats why I got into the habit of physically yanking one out before messing with the installation of another. You live you learn, no biggy.

Once, I turned on my computer and there was a big *POP* and smoke poured out of the cd drive. That was wonderful. Found out the power supply died.
