    Assist in science project!
Hello, i'm a high school science research student working on studying the cranial capacity of the normal and spider ball python.

I am looking for as many photos of adult normal ball pythons and spider ball pythons head shots (taken with a penny for comparison) taken similarly to the diagrammed photo of the Nerodia clarkii taeniata (Atlantic Salt Marsh Snake) here (minus the C and F angles)
    https://www.floridamuseum.ufl.edu/fi...a_clarikii.jpg
Im looking for at least 6 of each type but the more the merrier. I will also be producing 3D printed skulls using the measurements taken from studying the photos, if you are willing to assist i would HIGHLY appreciate it!!

    Sounds like a cool project!

Just for clarification, when you say normal, do you mean normal as in wild type "normal". Or does that include "normal" morphs not associated with head wobble?

thank you! For the normal, i was looking at the typical, "run of the mill" ball python since i am focusing on the coloration morph Spider. The normal is sorta my control group.

Ok, thank you. Unfortunately I can't help you. Neither of my BPs are normals or spiders.

And just to help out, are you looking for single gene spiders?

Good luck, I hope the project goes really well for you!!!

I have a normal. Unfortunately, mine is in shed right now so I don't want to mess with him. If you are still looking in a about a week I will so what i can do.

Do you want single-gene spiders or are other genes in the mix ok? I have a bee, a spinner, and a fire spinner who could become models.

Very cool sounding project, I can't help because I have an albino mojave BP, but I would love to see the results of your research if you're willing to share when you're done :)

3D printing skulls sounds amazing, I wish I had access to 3D printers when I was in high school. It's always nice to see research on snakes since there isn't enough of that out there and they are so misunderstood!

It DOES sound like a cool project...however, I have zero BPs these days, so I cannot contribute but I hope many others here will.

Since this is m first year doing this experiment, i'm working on all types of spiders. So spinners, bees, etc. are 100% welcome and okay!

How soon do you need the pics?

I have an adult female Albino Spider BP. That works, right?

I feed tomorrow, but can get pics by the end of the week (time willing).

You may want to try contacting Chris Hardwick: https://www.youtube.com/user/aaawebmaster

I think I've seen him post on here too, but he breeds BPs and I believe he said he's a scientist.

... And also has been reported to have been selling baby BPs at his local shows before they even took their first meals, so not sure I’d invest too much in anything he has to offer.

Not sure what good video will do: Here are a few videos of me fumbling with the snakes for the photos--my tripod is on loan so I have to balance the camera in one hand and the snake in the other.

What is the age range you are looking for as an adult?

3 years to how ever old, there wasn’t a large age range for my project, just full grown spider and normal adults.

    Another update!
i need at least two to three more of the pictures of a normal ball python and a spider ball, single gene or any morph with the spider gene.
i’m coming up to my deadline to be done with the project and i’m worried it won’t be finished.
    thank you!

Hello again, this was the only set of photos i was given to use for my project and i want to thank you again for your help.

i need to ask for your permission to be able to use these photos on my science poster for my project, so i can show that i didn't just make up my measurements.

Im sure i can use these as references on some of the morphs of ball python if the judges are unsure of some morphs, what exactly are the ones you had sent me? i can make guesses but i just want to be precise and correct.
    Thank you still

If you’re referring to my three photos... they’re a pair of Albino Royals and a High White Pied Royal ( sometimes called Piebald )
