    New & Saying Hello!
    https://scontent-ort2-2.xx.fbcdn.net...3b&oe=5E1FCD34

Hey everyone! I am new to Ball-Pythons.net & this is my very first post! It's really nice to meet everyone! I am knew to BP ownership, and educated myself/researched for 6 full months prior to getting my first ball python. This is Poe! He arrived yesterday & I couldn't be more in love! He's an enchi lesser morph. He was hatched on 8.24.19. He's currently in a temporary 20L terrarium, that we've customized to make him as comfortable & happy as possible. We are purchasing an Animal Plastics T10 soon w/ belly heat & RHP for his permanent enclosure.

It's nice to meet everyone & be a part of the forums here! I look forward to meeting all of you & your noodles! :snake:

Hey thank you so very much! Yes I truly value responsible pet ownership & nothing makes me more upset than those who are apathetic about pet ownership. I'm a vet tech & see some truly irresponsible owners. It's SO important to value any living creature that comes to live in your home. Pet ownership is a privilege & should always be treated as such. Thank you for the warm welcome! ♥

That's awesome, I've actually considered going to vet tech school. I'm 40 and have been in the restaurant industry for almost 25 years. Time for a change...

I can only imagine some of the neglect you've seen. Uggggh.

I've long said I feel there should be an application process for bringing pets home. Or at least a general competency test. I mean, it takes YEARS to adopt a child, but anybody with money can walk into a store and leave with an animal... I'm obviously comparing apples to oranges, but we're talking living beings either way.

Anyway, happy to have you on board. :D

I couldn't agree with you more!! And I say YES, go be a vet tech! If you love animals & have a passion for improving their lives or ending their suffering, I certainly recommend it. It's a wonderful & rewarding career. (Although...I can't say it pays super great. LOL!)

Hi there, really didn't even notice it. We have all seen and done grammar errors a LOT worse than that. And I thank God for spell check and those red lines.
I usually (unless pm) hit preview post the first time and read it good before hitting submit button that helps me catch a lot of stuff. And after you do submit it you will have a little time to edit, there is an edit button that will appear to you on your post but it only stays there so many minutes. Edit it then hit the save button. Hope you like it here.

Not to worry, we new that!

At least we can edit our posts here, but yes, it's only for a short time that the 'edit' button exists, then it stays as originally posted.
I usually double-check mine too, typos happen.

Does the Vet you work for see snake's? I'm just curious as we will be getting our first BP soon. Hopefully I don't need a Vet soon but would me nice to know a Vet good with snakes if I need one in the future. I'm assuming the Vet industry is like most others, some are good with snakes and others just deal with the routine cats, dogs, etc.

I hear they are like Pokemon. You want to catch em all! ;) My husband is pretty strict on a no more than 4 pets in the house rule (we have a dog and three cats as well), so I dunno if I can convince him since this is our fifth... but so far I'm totally in love! ♥

Not a Pokemon guy, but I always say snakes are like tattoos, nobody has just one...hahahhaha

I was allowed "one snake" by my girlfriend about 4-5 years ago when I got back into the hobby after a break...
I now have seven and counting!!! Hehehehhe!!!

I had 1 Last December, now I have 6, Doh! Of course it's just me and my daughter, and she's always up for rescue / re-homing another snake,

and being she's about to turn 17 and is quite capable and willing to handle / feed / and clean cages I don't find it difficult to house that many.

Just be careful adding that many that quick. It's tough to keep up with proper quarantine unless you've got lots of seperate rooms in the house.
I've also seen lots of people dive in head first and burn out as quickly as they fell in love. Then the whole collection is up for sale.
    Just food for thought...

Lol, I've had mine for about a month and a half now and already want another one. My husband steadfastly says no way. Don't have room for another one now anyways [emoji6] but don't make any promises when I get a bigger house.

Now that I have a room to house the snakes, that leaves 3 other rooms plus the kitchen if needed :D. I've only gotten 1 new snake at a time,

except for the last 2 babies I acquired, but that was a different circumstance

I don't do fur pets, but find snakes fit in really well

Daughter helps out with no issues, i get home from work check on all the snakes, change out waters every 3 days, 2 days for feeding (3 snakes per day)

That really doesn't take up much time, and being I'm not the "go party every night" kinda person, I'd rather hang with the snakes instead of being in a place crowded with humans.

If I happen to be tired any night and don't want to get a snake out, they don't take it personal and won't hold it against me. So it works out very well for us all.

Sorry if that came across directed at you. I meant for it to be a generalized comment to help whoever may read it. I should have made that clear.

It's All Good :gj:, Because you had me quoted I took that as a "be careful" post from you as to not overwhelm myself going from zero to a bunch of snakes so quickly.

I definitely don't want to get over my head, and have to rehome the snakes I just gave a home to, that would not end up well for the snakes! :(
