My first boa!
Checked out the Saratoga Springs Expo today intending to look for a bullsnake and instead wound up with this BCI. I'm leaning toward the name Diego currently, but feel free to leave suggestions. He will be a pet only.
Also, as a new boa caretaker I am definitely open to advice as there always seems to be those things that you can only learn through experience.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...25e84269d2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...59e0cb6fc1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a2f6740b61.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bf73f27b95.jpg

A bull is in my someday future, but I just got this feeling that he was my snake...Also, there was only one Bull at the show, and when I went back to check it out, someone literally was standing there paying for it. Fate intervening I guess...

Re: My first boa!
There is something about the boas. They are just an awesome looking snake. I have always wanted a bull. I just recently got one from a breeders clutch. Had him for a little over a month. Still a baby. Once out of quarantine, I will have to post some pics

Nice looking boa but in the future if you have a snake in the car keep it double-contained in a bag which is in a securely-latched bin. Snakes can get under seats or behind dashboards in a split second.

Re: My first boa!
Funny you should mention that; I thought of that also. I had his container in my zippered fold-up back pack I keep in my car. I figured it would be perfect for the task and lightweight in fabric, too, but that the pictures may turn out better without it. I was going to the photoshoot while driving, but since I didn't name him Jesus I couldn't instruct him to take the wheel. ; ) This is going into my 7th year of keeping now 5 species of snake from hatchling/neonate and I've yet to lose one...touch wood...

Congrats on the cute new boa...either type of snake you mentioned would have been a great choice. As you said, 'fate' had a hand in this. ;)

Congrats on your new baby boa! I like the name Diego, but thats because I like spanish/latin names.
You are gonna love having a boa. My boa and most of all the ones I have seen and heard of are great eaters, very curious, like to be handled and have absolutely beautiful colors and patterns. All and all a very good purchase indeed... :gj:

I already love how soft he is and how well he holds on. I totally agree with your curiosity observation.
Does anyone know how normal boa colors change as they grow?)
