Haha no, but that's pretty funny. It is for a strong female though, so it may correlate perfectly with you. Snapping turtles are more affectionate than you may think!

Thanks so much for sharing. :gj: How did we get from the tiny one you're holding at the start to this one (40 lbs)? :D

Many more animals (than we expect to) seem to understand good treatment as our pets.
Yea, that is just a video I found while doing research. And that's not a unique case of affection from my research . Mine has swam up to me when I entered the room and I've only had her for two days. While I couldn't call it affection yet, it is curiosity beyond a feeding response.

Is your ast eatting pellets or anything else? I've had my hatchling for 2 weeks now and cant prove its eating pellets or frozen shrimp it still has some white on its belly where the yolks stack was. I have guppys and ghost shrimp that I've noticed some missing. Hard to find info on ast so seeing someone on a recent forum who has one gives me a chance to learn more. For the meantime mines in a 20 gallon and the water is around 3-4" with a temperature around 78-79 + or - .

I dont intend on feeding pellets, so I cant answer that specifically. If yours is eating the guppies, just subsidize that with some vegetables, like lettuce and carrots. Pellets aren't the only answer.
Your tank sounds good though.
