    My New Noodle
Hi, there! I'm new to the forum. I just recently purchased my new baby, Jake. He is a normal BP. I am unsure of his exact age but he weighs 123 g (a week ago). I have been calling him a he but don't know his sex for sure yet. He is adjusting great to his new home and eats like a champ. I've fed him 3 times. The first was the day after after I brought him home. Didn't think he would eat but he did with no problem. I figure he was probably starving because they were feeding him mouse fuzziest...way to small for him. His last meal was a small rat pup (16g) and he had no trouble with it. The two pics of his tank are right after I brought him home. His tank is much nicer looking now.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...593b06b5da.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f38ed673f0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d78f34b090.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c078f595e8.jpg

Welcome, you have a very cute little noodle, I remember when my ball python was that little, they grow so fast so make sure you take lots of pictures. :)

Well, Jake shed and pooped last night. It looks like he got all his shed off but on his head. I got him out today and totally cleaned out his enclosure and did some tweaking to help bring up the humidity some more so hopefully he will get the rest off. I don't think he got his eye caps off either. I've been struggling to keep the humidity up in there but I added a water bowl and some barely damp miss and the humidity seems to be holding steady for now. Below are some pictures of him exploring after I cleaned up.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...517e5d342a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b9f4df83cf.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1202185e32.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ae094de3e1.jpg

Oh, forgot to mention I weighed him to and he is now 127g. So he's gained 4oz. Tomorrow is feeding day.

Fed Jake last night. He ate a 19g rat pup. Not a great photo but he is locked up on his rat. Took him a bit to figure out how to swallow it lol, he kept trying to eat it from the middle. He finally figured it out though and got it down!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...04f9919bda.jpg

If he doesn't manage to shift it you could put him in a damp (low thread count i.e. cheap :P ) pillowcase knotted shut and leave him in the cool end of his enclosure overnight. :gj:

Their attempts to escape usually help shift the shed get started.

He was rubbing his head on his hide some last night after he ate so maybe the higher humidity and the stretching of his mouth to eat loosened it up. I will check on him tomorrow evening. I don't usually mess with him for a couple of days after he eats. [emoji3526]

I soaked him last night and tried to get the skin off his head. I got a little off but wasn't very successful. Tonight I soaked him for a little longer and was able to get most of not all the remaining skin off his head and around his mouth ( he was not a happy camper). I know I got one eye caps off and I'm hoping I got both. I'm going to let him chill for a couple of days before I mess with him again

That enclosure looks awesome, you are taking great care of your new noodle. I'm sure Jake will grow up to be a happy spoiled snake. :)

Thank you! I want him to be happy and healthy. I tried to make him a home that would be as close to what he he would have in the wild as I could get.
