My mom had a special visitor today.
So my mom lives in South America and she found this boa chillin' in her backyard this morning. A couple months ago a bigger red-tail boa showed up close to the neighbors house and unfortunately he shot at it eight times. After the snake died he displayed it in front of his house like a trophy.

My family was very outraged when this happened, and as soon as they found the boa this morning they made sure to relocate it in a place where it can be safe. My mom actually had a boa constrictor when she was very young and her and her family cared for it for several years, so she was very familiar with it and that's how she was able to handle it and successfully relocate it.

Glad she took it away from her crazy neighbor. I wish I lived somewhere where you get random snakes and reptiles just show up, most I've got here that has scales are just garter snakes and those like to musk.

Thanks, I kinda wish all the stranded boas in the area end up in my mom's backyard for their safety.. there's a lot of deforestation going on right now so I think that's why boas and other animals are showing up in random places. It's very unfortunate.

The biodiversity in my home country is crazy, but unfortunately no efforts are being made towards conservation. I live in the Midwest right now and the only snake I've seen here was a rat snake lol.

What a beautiful boa! He has such a cute face :) I would feel blessed to see a wild snake like this in my yard. Really glad to hear she got it to safety. It's so cool that she lives in a place where there are just wild boas wandering around.

    Beautiful boa!

I think the wild types are my favorites.

That would be a welcomed guest at my home.

    Great post!

So do I...but I REALLY wish people (governments!) would take a step back & realize how much we NEED the natural UN-DEVELOPED areas in our countries...we are ALL
guilty of "allowing" unmitigated greed from corporations, to the detriment (possible downfall via climate change, air pollution, loss of biodiversity, etc) of life on earth.
It's NOT "O.K." & we humans are NOT immune from the effects of that destruction (including wars). :tears:...:(......:taz: Can we (humans) evolve fast enough (NOW!) to
stop & reverse the damage to our planet? If ever we needed the right (intelligent!) leadership, it's now. What's going on in many places (U.S. too) is UNACCEPTABLE!

And it's certainly NOT inevitable. Not if we care, so do we??? We are all here on this forum because we care about snakes & other animals but there's a "big picture" we
must not ignore. Much as I love it when wild creatures end up in my yard, I do NOT love the reason they are there...that all too often their natural habitat has been
destroyed by man's inhumanity to nature. :snake::snake::snake::snake::snake:

Too bad the people in charge with all the money could care less about animals and our beautiful earth. I think most of the world could use a do over with their whole government, lets get some people in those seats that care about the world it’s self and the animal species that only get one opportunity on this planet. You can’t forget actual freedom too [emoji41][emoji631] Rant over lol

That’s a mighty fine looking Boa.

I’m proud of your Mom for taking the effort to relocate it.
