Official FootBallPythons.net 2019 Weekly Thread

Alright all, week one is behind us and week two kicks off this evening with Christian McCaffrey and the Panthers heading to Tampa to take on the Bucs.

Now that we've all got our feet wet, it's time to bring some of our fun rules to the table...

The first one is quite simple. The player who scored the weeks highest score has the option to change the team name of the player with the weeks lowest score.

For example, last season I was forced to play out the majority of the year with the team name J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets!
As you all know, even the rookies, I'm a Pats fan born and bred in lovely MA. So the Jets team name was a serious kick in the nuggets. See....FUN!!!

As a flipside to this rule, if your team name is changed and you go on to score the high score for a given week you have the option to change your team name or to change the lowest score for the weeks name. Your call.

We also like to do fun little side bets. For example, last year Taylor was forced to hold a HONK IF YOU LOVE TOM BRADY sign on the streets of Chicago.
Ax was forced to change his team name to I �� CRAIG until he won again. Ax was also made to dress in drag and change his forum profile pic to show proof. Y'all get the point.

Now I'd like to take a chance to introduce everybody since we've got some newbies. I'll list each team name and the owners forum name below:

Now that we all know each other, on to the week one recap....

The weeks leading scorer was rookie Mason's Misfits with an impressive score of 172.44 led by huge weeks from McCaffrey and Sammy Watkins. The Misfits easily handled SnakeynameTBD by a score of 172.44-85.82.

Cloudz4dayz pulled off a convincing 'W' over The Double Doinks by a score of 107.42-62.90. Deshaun Watson led the charge.

Wander Woman held on to defeat Hqballz 99.06-86.34 with Dalvin Cook being her high scorer.

Seattle Drag...ons started the season on the right track by topping BlueDevil0584 by a score of 99.06-86.34. Despite a disappointing week for Can Newton, the Drag...ons depth pushed them to the win.

The running back trio of David Johnson, Marlon Mack and Derrick Henry helped Dallas All Day defeat Ride the Lightning despite a huge game from Lamar Jackson.
The final score was 146.90-127.19

In the final match of the week returning champion Angry Krakens edged out Firefly Funhouse 124.12-118.60. Evan Engram, Carson Wentz and DeAndre Hopkins all put up good games.


I'm looking forward to another fun season. Let's get some side bets going!!! I'll be looking forward to the first team name change of the season!!!!!

It was an... odd... week one. Players everyone thought would go off didn't do anything, and players no one thought much about went off. I'm hoping it's just beginning of the season craziness.

I am getting too old for all this drama. Up till almost midnight watching this game cause it came down to the last minute. But my team ended up on top and they helped me with the fantasy team too!

Whoever got Julio raked it in too.

That was terrible. This team of mine is a real snooze-fest so far. Congrats Mason, undefeated so far. :gj:

Can someone explain how waivers work? I am dropping a couple backups that either such or are injured for the year. I think I did it right but how long until it takes effect?

The way it works is come Wednesday morning if you put in a claim whomever is first in line has first dibs on the player. Position rotates as waivers are used. So if no one ahead of you in line put in a waiver claim for that player, the switch will go into effect as soon as they are off waivers

In addition, you can add/drop starting Wednesday and right up until kickoff. Once the game starts the player is locked til Wed.
So if you put in for a player who is locked on the waiver wire and nobody else tries to pick him up he's yours. If others try, it comes to who's got priority on the waiver wire.

Whoever Pineiro Party! is, I hope you are going to put in a different QB. I'd rather not beat you like it is now.

My real team might be throwing another season away but at least my fantasy team is 3-0.

How is the new guy you drafted based off the recommended picks or fanboying his real team beating everyone? I expected to be closer to last.

This is ALWAYS the way it works lol - in another league I'm in, a friend of mine drafted for a guy that wasn't there, and just went crazy with it, all over the map because she liked their names. Annnnnd he's second in the league right now :rolleyes:

You can plan as much as you want, it all goes to poo when the season starts lol

I noticed that too last night when looking at other matchups. Ouch!

I'm not sure how late you noticed, but you can change players right up until game time. For example, if you had player A in your lineup but he was on a bye, you can still take him out and out someone else in as long as their game hasn't kicked off yet.

What?? I thought you had to set your lineup before Thursday? So you had to be set before any of the games kicked off. I swear I couldn't make changes on Thursday last year so I thought I could only make my changes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Ugh. Well now I know.

Yup. Up until scheduled game time you can move players from bench to line up and vice versa. Same with waiver wire

I am the luckiest FF noob ever. One of my players for some reason did get any points even though he played in the game and I still won.

I might be losing this week though since I had to sit CM because it's their bye week.

The giant has fallen but I am still on top. I get CM back from the bye this week so hopefully things get back on track.

We'll see. Seems like this year in this league and another that I play in, when I need a certain player to do well, they lay an egg for me

Snapped my Fantasy losing streak and my Falcons snapped theirs over the Aints. Twas a good weekend for me.

Sorry we broke your Falcons. They just haven't been the same since the second half of the Super Bowl. The greatest comeback in football history obviously clipped the Falcon wings and they haven't flown since...poor birds ;)
