What's your pet wishlist?
What are some of the snakes or otherwise that you're hoping to pick up one day?
Mine is:
1. Alligator snapping turtle (which may happen sooner, rather than later)
2. Mexican black kingsnake (focusing on my scrub before I pick up any more snakes)
3. Black mamba (a boy can dream)
And you?
-
Sort of answered this in the captive breeding thread, but heres mine atm!
(in no particular order)
Boelens Python
Sheltopusik
Argentine Tegu
BCI
ETB
-
Naja Pallida (African Red Spitting Cobra) if there were ever a chance at venomous.
Otherwise as already mentioned a Mexican Black King and another would be a Black Tail Cribo.
-
I already have my dream snake and that is my normal ball python Crowley. I also adopted my mom's parrot and he's so much work I don't have time or space of any more pets. In the future long after Crowley passes (the parrot can live to 70 so he ain't going anywhere) the snake I wanted to get would be a mangrove snake. They just look amazing, have big heads that look cool and they are venomous but not enough to really hurt you. So not only would I have an awesome looking snake, I could turn a venomous animal puppy dog tame like I did with Crowley. Of course that's just a dream as they are illegal here.
-
I have quite a few snakes that I'm intending to get, like a dumeril's boa and a blood python, but my biggest snake goals are to have a couple pituophis and drymarchon species someday.
A false water cobra and pied mussurana are more unlikely to happen, especially the mussurana, but still on a hypothetical list for if I get my drymarchon and then feel like I need yet another challenge.
-
For snakes I want an eastern indigo eventually. For non-reptiles I've always wanted a skunk and a bluetick coon hound.
-
Angolan Pythons and Eastern Indigoes are on my short list.

Re: What's your pet wishlist?
Oh, how I love this question!
*Piebald BP was at the top of the list, but can be checked off :)
-Mystic Potion BP
-Barred tiger salamander (my boy, Khan, passed away suddenly a couple of years ago due to liver failure.)
-Another pacman frog. This will likely be checked off as of Sunday.
- Another dog that's compatible with my current one. She was here first, so she has a say.
-
I would love a skink, but for now we are "full" of pets, and a baby on the way. So it just remains a wish for the time being.
-
Some of these I will never be able to get, but I guess thats Why its a wish list.
SD Retic
Viper Boa
Hognose
ATB
ETB
Scrub Python
Rubber Boa
Dumerils Boa
GTP
These are no in any specific order

Pets?
Lately I have really been wanting a Bearded Dragon something really nice either high red/orange or white (Lizards around here are pet only)
Would love to have a scaleless corn snake but they are illegal in GA so a scaleless rat snake is most likely, again pet no intention to breed those.
I would love to have a Black Head python but I think my hubby would freak out so I will remain within his comfort zone of small to medium range snakes :rofl: .....which is a good compromise since there are 50 to 75 of those + babies at any given times.
-
My snake wishlist is pretty long, so most are pipe dreams...
Angolan Python
Yellow Anaconda
ETB
Mangrove
WLP
Scrub Python
Bredlis carpet python
Those too my list, but there are plenty more.
Non snakes... I've wanted a dwarf caiman for a long time. A Big Cat would be super cool too... A leopard would be my first choice, but a tiger or a male lion would be sick too. Maybe I'll get an ocelot someday, hahaha!
I've always said no birds, but they fascinate the crap out of me. Green cheek conures are super cool.
-
I have 1.0 Papuan Carpet that I've already paid for, just waiting to work out either meeting to pickup or shipping (I know the guy).
But aside from that, over the next few years I'd really like to pick up...
0.1 Bredl's Python
1.1 Inland Carpet Python
1.1 Rough Scaled Pythons
1.0 Kalatoa or Kayaudi Retic
-
I didnt even think of non snake pets. I've bred sugar gliders and would be interested in doing that again. That was fun.
non snake wishlist:
Female Blue Pit bull Gaff or Razors Edge Blood line
Savannah Monitor
Octopus
Lion Fish
Nile Monitor
Chickens (for meat)
Rabbits (for meat)
Sphinx
Blue and gold Macaw
Cockatoo
Theres more, but that is a good start.
-
lemmesee...
-- Albino BEL King Cobra with the iridescence of a BRB
-- Monarch Killer Leopard Clown
-- Ballticulated Python, wild type
:)
-
For reptiles
Vietnamese blue beauty rat snake
Rhino rat snake
Western Hognose
Jungle carpet python
Peach throated monitor lizard
Mammals
Groenendael dog
Maine coon cat
Balinese cat
Flemish giant rabbit

Re: What's your pet wishlist?
Oh geez, my wishlist has changed quite a bit over the past few months. Various iterations (in chronological order!) include:
"Dude, I forgot how much I love snakes!": Honduran milk snake, corn snake.
"My first expo": ball python, Brazilian rainbow boa, ETB, ATB, GTP, viper boa, dwarf monitor, mourning gecko.
"The Python phase": ball python (again), blood python, jungle carpet, GTP, Angolan python, Children's python, SD retic.
"... but I did love all those boas at the expo": ball python (still there!), many locality boas, blood python, rainbow boas, ETB.
[You are here] "You know what, they live a long time, so let's keep it small a spoil a few rotten": ball python, medium-sized locality boa (locality TBD).
...so yeah, I've pretty much wanted every non-giant python or boa at some point. :P

Those are very reasonable desires.

For non snake pets I'd love an octopus too as they are extremely smart, only thing is they are escape artists and can fit anywhere their beak fits. I have a blue and gold macaw and they are amazing but a lot of work, I find it worth it but you really do need a lot of time to give them affection. They are loud but I've learned to tune it out, some people can't though. Cockatoos need more attention than blue and golds. I have a lot of experience with parrots. :)
This video alone made the octopus my favorite sea creature, it uses sea shells as armor:

Re: What's your pet wishlist?
Blood/short-tail python, Dumerils boa, blue tongue skink, ornate uromastyx, caiman lizard, false water cobra, dwarf retic. I could probably keep going indefinitely [emoji23] Currently I have a Greek tortoise, crested gecko, leachie gecko, bearded dragon, sand boa, BCI boa, and a ball python.

Re: What's your pet wishlist?
I know I already made a post, but I'd like to update my wishes to be more BP- focused ;)
- Black pastel banana (high contrast)
-White Diamond
-Grey matter
- Pinto pied
- A nice-looking paradox
- Clown (enchi?)
- Mystic Potion (high-lavender)
Of course if I ever wanted to breed BPs, or as I see more varieties of morphs, the list would alter accordingly.
1.0 Pumpkin Pied BP, 0.1 Bearded dragon, 1.2 Leopard gecko, 0.1 Ornate Pacman Frog
-
Yes, I want to update my list too! As my alligator snapping turtle is coming Tuesday!
1. Alligator snapping turtle (which may happen sooner, rather than later)

Yea, I'm pretty excited. Picking up the tank today. It just hatched, so it'll be quite small for long enough to build a huge tank. I'll make a thread about her, when she comes in on tuesday.

Blue-tongue skinks are a lot of fun :)
At the last expo I went to, I noticed colors on them that I had never seen before. From what I read while snooping on reptile forums, the breeding of BTS may grow even higher in practice soon enough. They have a lot of potential.

Care to input more on this?? The living in Pa. part
My family is from there, was looking at heading to Somerset, County in the next 5 years or so,
But Pennsylvania seems to be getting really crappy with some laws they are currently trying to pass. Might have to change direction on that move.

What's your pet wishlist?
Just a Cape File snake for me ..
I will always regret selling the one I had years ago :(

I can't speak for PA, but I want to move to WA at some point onto my friends land, and some of the laws there are super lame, particularly with venomous (cant have them).

It was mostly just shock in the way things are done moving from MD to PA. The way the govt does a lot of things like taxes and the scam they call vehicle inspections. Not to mention the whole borough and township thing. In MD there was dnr (department of natural resources) which covered basically everything wildlife related. PA has the game commission and the fish/boat commission. Herpetoculture falls under the fish and boat.

Thanks for the input, Here in Va we have yearly vehicle inspections, and bi-yearly emissions in the Northern Va section,
Emissions is 28.00, you pull in they plug into your obd2 port and the computer lets DMV (division of motor vehicles) know you passed so you can renew your tags..
Inspections 16.00 yearly, Tags 47.00 yearly, then personal property taxes/fees yearly, so the vehicle scams I'm already aware of. that shouldn't be any different.

Re: What's your pet wishlist?
i just really REALLY hate someone telling me what i have to do with my vehicle. plenty of tread left on my tires, i'd drive them another 3 years but nope, had to get new ones on our newest vehicle. can't even imagine how we're going to get the rest inspected.

I made a post on imgur about some cool and rare reptiles and figured it would be appropriate for this thread. I like the top 5 and of course would love a scaleless ball python too.

The green tree monitor is pretty sweet too. They seem a little crazy though.
