Too much of a tongue twister.

Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)

Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
Well, he doesn't suck blood.. and he's not dead. ;)
I'll think of a name. It just may be awhile.
-
Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)

-
Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
ha ha...you have a snake without a name.....
That is the limit I set on myself for the amount of herps that I can keep. When I get to the point that I can't remember their names or I run out of mythology names to give, I definately do not need any more herps :)

Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
I have four snakes without names. Sometimes it takes me awhile to think of a name, but I never forget them!

Lotus
George
Fred
Donovan
Harry
Gretchen
Beauregard
Diva
Bellatrix
Rusalka
Julinar
Helaku
Lurch

Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)

the
best collection of names ever!!!! i mean u got harry...and bellatrix like total polar opposites woah
-
Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
LOL.. yes I take pride in my snake names.
When I get another female anaconda, I want to name it Nagini. (from HP too)
-
Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
i didnt even make the harry potter connection till u said nagini
i was just picking the most plain name ( no offence to anyone out there) and bellatrix is like female fighter or something like that
-
Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
Yeah, Bellatrix is 'female warrior' Her mate Donovan means 'dark warrior' (he's a dark phase dumerils)
Helaku means 'full of sun' (sunglow motley corn)
Rusalka - water nymph that drowns her victims, first luring them with her beauty (yellow anaconda)
Demeter (goddess of nature and agriculture)
As a side note, 'Harry' means 'home ruler', and as my future biggest snake, the name fits.

Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
Rusalka like a mermaid i see ur all into mythology u do all sorts? i love greek and norse but my langage is pretty rusty
and isnt harry a nickname for harold? which was taken from old english for our modern englisg word herald or announcer

Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
Kinda like a mermaid, 'cept a rusalka is undead and it kills things. It is celtic mythology. I like all mythological characters/stories.
And yes, Harry is derived from Harold.

Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
My lovely wife, who begrudgingly is permitting me to get a snake :) did so only if I named him Salazar Slytherin. So when I get him in two weeks thats his name!!!
-
Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
lol.. well I suppose that is a fitting name.
I may have to name a snake Salazar sometime. HP is a good source of snakie names.

Kipling's Rikki Tikki Tavi's cobras were Naag and Naagina. I've remembered that for YEARS from the animated TV movie. Too close to Nagini for you????
I've been thinking for days for my new baby's name, and still haven't come up with anything either. But I also figure that once he's in his new home, I'll get the chance to see his personality and will probably come up with something fitting then. :D

Re: Some of my snakes (pics!)
Didn't know those names!
Yes, animals tend to name themselves.
