Re: Michigan reptile show
I've been to the Taylor show a few times, probably won't go again unless I'm REALLY bored. I don't mean to insult any vendors there but its usually not worth the drive for me. My wife and I live about 2.5 -3hrs away and its just not that exciting. Its a very small show or has been in the past. Of course we have spoiled ourselves by mainly attending the columbus, OH shows and this last NARBC show which you can't really compare to Taylor. You might have a good time and find some cool stuff, I think it varies we just haven't been impressed that much.
Re: Michigan reptile show
ive been there once. its not a big show at all, but still pretty cool if you live a reasonable distance. i bought my burm there :)
Re: Michigan reptile show
would it be worth the 1 hour drive to pick up a female BP? would i be able to find one in the $35 range based on past experiences?
Re: Michigan reptile show
hi i go there alot to buy rat you can find a baby there for the price but thats about it
Re: Michigan reptile show
I think the last time I was there...which was probably a year or so now at least...I was turned off because of the lack of BP's...but like I said it varies. If I lived an hour away I'd definately still go, but not going to make a 3hr trip for it every month.
On a side note, my wife and I are planning on attending the new Kalamazoo show that is being started up. That is on the 19th, might be cool to meet some other MI keepers.
Re: Michigan reptile show
they had a ton of BPs at the show i went to. is the kalamazoo show gonna be monthly too?
Re: Michigan reptile show
I think the new kzoo show is supposed to be annual...not positive its the first one so if there is a good turn out I'm sure it would be continued. Lets all get together and show support for it...we need more MI rep shows!!
We could start a new thread to try and draw people in to see who can go and meet up and what not...don't mean to take away from the original question.

I went a few months ago, and if you are with a possibly captive hatched, wild harvested egg female baby, you might find one for that. I was looking for adult female at that time, and there were none to be had at any price.
It is a pretty small show, but it is only an hour from Toledo. Tell you what, I went to the Fort Wayne show a few months ago to pick up a rack from Jason's Jungle, and I think it was maybe a bit better. It is a two hour dive there, though. Here is a link on that, http://www.fortwaynereptileexpo.com/

Here's the link for the new Kzoo show on November 19th.

Mike and I are hoping to attend if possible. It's a long drive for us but we do really want to meet Alex Hue and Casey Hulse as well as any of the Michigan forum members. I think it's a 30 table show and isn't filled up yet so it may be pretty small but like Heath said let's get out and support any new reptile shows here in Michigan! I read on Alex's site that they just got a rodent vendor so that should be nice to see.
The entrance fee is very reasonable as well as the lunch offered. I sure hope all things considered Mike and I and the kids can get there. The guy that is the breeder for Beth's new albino nelson's milksnake will be there so hopefully she can pick up her female that day too.

Re: Michigan reptile show
The cleveland show is 2 hours from here but i was trying to avoid the long drive by going to the Taylor Mi show. I guess ill go there to take a look anyways. if i dont pick anything up then its off the one of the other shows. vinnimac do you know of any dealers in the toledo area or anyone who is looking to sell a female BP in our area?

I think the Taylor show is actually further away from us than Kzoo. Isn't Taylor sort of near Detroit?
Hey I suck at geography and I'm not from here anyways and a bit too lazy to fire up mapquest at the moment LOL.

Re: Michigan reptile show
i don't think i ever saw Alex at the Taylor show the times I went.

Re: Michigan reptile show

Re: Michigan reptile show
Is any one going to the kalamazoo show in plainwell this weekend it looks like there will be some good breeders there.
Nick
Re: Michigan reptile show

Re: Michigan reptile show
I'll think about, I attended the very first kzoo show it was ok and I think its getting better from what I've read.
Re: Michigan reptile show
i went to the first one, and i went to this one..
the first one was definitely better but this one was fun too.
i picked up a B&W argentine tegu, another cresty, and some extremely tiny egyptian geckos... i don't really know what they are, but they're an inch long and full grown.
Re: Michigan reptile show
I also went, when were you there. I wish I could have bought something there. I had my eye on that tiger retic at BAreptiles table. I also wanted either BAReptiles female ball or NSreptiles Banded ringer male ball python.

Re: Michigan reptile show
i was there right around 1pm, i should have hit you up before i left actually, since we're in the same town.
there wasnt a huge selection but the animals that were there were very nice. was that lavender albino retic still there when you were? VERY nice.
Re: Michigan reptile show
I got there at around 10:30. Ya there was not alot of animals there but I still had a good time. YA that retic was so nice I wish I had $800 I would have bought that in a heart beat. I cant wait till the next show I will actually be able to buy a couple things.
