I'm not eligible since my personal data wasn't put at risk. Posting since there's a fairly short time window to get your settlement if you were affected (you can look it up on the FTC's web site).

well this makes me happy and sad. Happy to know about it, sad I'm apparently affected. Happy I have pretty solid credit monitoring from my work.

Thanks for the link, I was eligible, which was good and bad, but I'm sure most peoples data is already out there with all the breeches in the last 6-8 years

oh lovely lol - so many people requested the $125 instead of free credit monitoring that besides proving you have existing credit monitoring (done) it says the actual paid amount they send may now be 'significantly lower'

I filed when it initially was offered as I had my identity stolen due to it most likely.

You will be EXTREMELY lucky to get $25

Most of these class actions settlements work out as you getting a few dollars ten years from now.

yeah, the few other class actions I've been a part of usually results in nothing or a $10 visa gift card.

For those opting for free monitoring, I have to wonder...if they blew our security before, do we really want them to continue monitoring for us? :confusd:

You didn't have a choice, credit card companies (and I have only one CC) contracted through Equifax which is why SO many people were affected.

I know that...I mean now, what they're offering to make up for the breach. Either a monetary payment (if you already have credit monitoring) or free monitoring from them.
