My truck didn't make it home.
Thankfully no one was hurt. The radiator got showed up into the engine. Radiator fluid in engine oil all over the road. Staying in a hotel room tonight and Friends picking me up tomorrow.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4980754e50.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...81b298eda0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3b0e44e08a.jpg

DN, what is the motivation behind this comment? Do you really think it is helpful in someway, or do you just end up with a feeling of superiority from it? I am just trying to understand what the take away is for you, since for the life of me, I can't find anything positive or helpful here.

Well me and sky have some history and I was waiting for him to reply so I could make a joke of it.

    But it’s cool.

Alright. I didn't know there was a backstory so it just came across as an unnecessary jab. No worries.

Its cool. I may be one of the only members here that will say this, but I like sky a lot. He has had some bad luck in life lately and still takes it in stride with a smile on his face.

    Did you rear end someone?

Do you have insurance with collision as well as bodily injury/liability coverage? This looks like an average or above average impact but hard to tell for sure without seeing the photos of the other car or whatever else you had hit.

Accidents happen to all of us. Bad timing, bad luck or just because... It happens. I'm glad no one was injured. At the same time, the paralegal side of me had seen so many of these photos and lawsuits that I would hold my reservations of how hurt anyone is (Again, if you had rear ended someone). The whiplash will most certainly suck for awhile but not uncommon for the other driver/passengers to seek treatment a few days afterward.

I took it with good light. Just happy to be home and time to pick up the pieces.

I do have insurance and am grateful for having it. I also have gap insurance.

The other car had bumper issues but was not hurt much. His bumper went into my grill. I don't have permission to show the photos here so I cant. My engine was leaking oil and the radiator was busted. I am sure the engine will need replacing so I think they will total it???? If they do then I will move to a full size truck which is what I wanted from the start. Time will tell.

Indeed. Thank you. I purchased a Honda Acord yesterday as a second car. I hope they repair my truck soon. I like having a truck.

Just had a wreck not long ago myself. Meth user pulled out in front of me on a highway and I t boned her. She pulled out stoped and continued on out in front of me like she was waiting to make sure I hit her. Had about 50 feet to stop. No dice at 50mph. No one hurt like in your accident, but quite inconvenient.
Glad your safe and all is well other than your ride.

Just venting at this point. I did have Amax insurance when the wreck happened. Not very pleased with them in general. After hours number would not even set up a tow truck or rental car. 9 days after the wreck and the appraisal was just done yesterday. Found out now they have a desk appraisal as a secondary appraisal process??? Was told could take up to 30 days to get a decision made. I purchased a Honda Accord to get me by while they drag their feet. I went with USAA for the insurance.

Never heard of Amax insurance...now I know why. I suspect you'll be much happier with USAA -but no rush to "find out". ;)

Most car insurance policies don't carry rental insurance or even have it. If they have it, you usually have to opt for it and this will add into your premium. Rental insurance can be costly, so many insureds either don't select it or the insurance company don't carry it. Towing expenses differ as well depending on your policy. This is why I always tell friends and family to read your declaration page and policy to see what you are being covered for.

I am not familiar with Amax but USAA is pretty big company and they have a good reputation of paying out claims. Again, read your dec page and policy to know what you are covered and what is not.

A 30 day response is not uncommon.

My policy was supposed to cover the towing. They had no after hours to make that happen for me.
