Are you asking if there is also YB in there or is it just a YB? What was the pairing? My first glance is Pastel DG.

Hey, asking if there is YB in her.
Pairing was YB DG x Pastel DG.

    thank you in advance.

I'm not too sure that's true when you're dealing with DG, DG really cleans things up and I don't believe my pastel DGs have that black checkering on the edges of the belly like this snake does.

When I get home later today I'll compare my DG pastels vs my DG YB and give you my input.

After looking at both pastel DG and YB DG, I would have to agree with Lord Sorrill, it does not have YB.

Here are two of my Pastel DG babies and then my YB girl who is deep in shed but you still get the idea.

Pretty clear in this case I think, yours looks much more like my pastel girls.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ed4fbce8b8.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f991f082a2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e092e29acf.jpg

I wish I was better at IDing YB but unfortunately it's a tough one for me. That definitely looks DG but I honestly don't think it has YB either, the edges of the belly of my YB DG are much more pixelated and her color is even a little more yellow. Hopefully someone better with YB can confirm because I'm not 100% Do you have pictures of the parent that supposedly has YB or siblings that for sure have YB?

Pictures of all the babies and parents would probably help with the identifications. I'm assuming this is your clutch? Congrats, both babies you posted so far are gorgeous!

Alright, now you got me stumped lol. What is it exactly that you're seeing that makes you think this one is YB but the other is not? Just the little bit of additional black on the belly? I thought that didn't matter so much but that the edges of the belly are what matter and that with YB there is checkering and it's usually pixilated or peppered at the low ends of the sides. I can see that on my YB but this one still looks clean to me other than the black patches on the actual belly. Is that common for YB?

It’s not mine my friend, it’s from a breeder friend and im buying a baby from him since they are all good in quality. But I’m trying to get one that is YB to fit my next projects. But sometimes it’s hard to identify YB.

I will get this last one since him and I are 99% sure it has YB on it :p

Since the Desert Ghost obscures the yellow belly highlights on the dorsal ridge and the belly patterning/coloration is of little use in this situation--only the sides are useful (which is a common occurrence in combos).

The pixellation is obvious under magnification. Pixellation such as that found on the sides of a yellow belly can also be seen in snakes carrying certain recessive Het genes, but, if yellow belly is a likely option--Occam's Razor would indicate that this is the correct choice. :)

Clutch mates and she is on the left. We can also see some nice flames on side ^^

That one looks speckled not pixelated. Based on the photo it doesn't look like a yellow belly to me...but, if someone told me it was yellow belly I would ask them how they determined it-since not every yellow belly exhibits every trait. There could be obvious markers on the belly you can't see in the photo. :)

You are right it’s a normal dg! I still don’t know how you do it. I can’t still tell the diference between mine (the one you said it’s YB) and this one I’ve asked yesterday.

    Teach me master ^^

I’m adding more pictures of my baby girls to try understand where to look to identify the presence of YB. On the next picture could you clearly identify YB?

The last set of photos were too washed out to examine in detail.

Perhaps if I adjust the color hue of the two established examples it will make them easier for you to spot the difference?

    Yellowbelly:

    vs.

    Non-yellow belly.

Anyhow: If all else fails wait until the snake(s) are older and it should be easier to compare :)
