Feel free to check out my rack! ;)
I just got my new rack from Boaphile! :D  WOO HOO!!

Do you know what that means?!?!?! Yes, my new babies can be shipped!! I got it yesterday, but have been crazy busy with kid related stuff. ACK! I've got it up and running and have moved my two girls over. Once the whole thing is full I'll take a couple more pics. Anyway here's my lovely rack fresh out of the box. ;) Enjoy.

Sweet rack!! Granted I wanted some pictures to go along with the heavy breathing I heard while you pushed it up the stairs right after you got it WITH the phone attached to your ear so you could tell me how cool it was! :P :D

All kidding aside, it looks awesome and if I plan ahead accordingly I may go in for the 5 - 10 week wait just to get one! Good luck stablizing those temps and take notes so I can do it in a snap when/if I get mine!!

    Luv ya!!!

Can I ask ya when you ordered it? I ordered mine on the 7th of Oct, and still have yet to get any kind of email update or anything on its progress. Jeff isn't too great at the whole customer service thing once he has the dough. Before the purchase, he was more than willing to return phone calls and emails, but now that I've paid for it, I haven't gotten a return email or message I've left him on his voicemail. :( I'm getting a little anxious!

Oh nice Christie! Glad it finally got there! Was it ready to go (assembled, heat installed, etc) or did you have to do any of that?

Bet you are excited to be getting your new snakes!

I ordered from Boaphile cause the only thing I had to do was get it out of the box and plug it in. I didn't have to mess with heat or anything. One long piece of heat tape is weaved through the racks and it's nice and solid. A little heavy considering I lugged the silly thing upstairs (with the sister on the phone in case I might have fallen and can't get up - she was to dial 911 LOL!). I'm sorry about the heavy breathing, but I wanted to get it plugged in and going. I'm so sad.

Here's a link to the actual one I got. Boaphile rack I ordered my Sept. 9th, so I wouldn't be looking for yours for awhile. He told me upfront it would be 5 weeks, but I kinda expected it to be longer. I didn't really start calling and harassing him until week 6. He never really returned any emails which is why I resorted to phone calls. He was very nice, but the wait is a bit long. I love the rack so everything ends well for me. :D

I wasn't sure WHAT I would be looking at in this one, Tigerlily! That does look like a nice rack you have there. I have pretty much the same thing from a different vendor. I got mine from Jason's Jungle and it uses the 32 qt Sterilites. Main reason for my choice is 'cause I could meet him at the show in Fort Wayne and just take it right home. It's only a two hour drive for me and with my 40 mpg Swift, I figured it was well worth the time and gas. (plus I already had snakes co-habitating and had to get that corrected before any of you found out!) THe only thing I would change about it, is that it has back heat, not belly heat. For the short tubs its fine, but I would rather heat one end of the long one, versus the whole side.

Yeah I've thought about taking pics with me to the local Christmas parties and asking ... Would you like to see some pictures of my rack? Just for fun. Sometimes I'm just a little warped. LOL! ;) (ok I'm usually a lot warped but that's another thread) I'm going to use this rack for my snakes until they get a bit bigger and then convert it into a hatchling rack. I've got the dividers, so I'm all set. Now if only I could start with the making of babies!! I'm so glad I can have this conversation, without people freaking out. Only here though. Of course I've still yet to find the place to have a conversation about rehabiliating beavers. (That's at a wildlife sanctuary, nothing perverted you sickos! :neener: )

Wow, almost a full 8 weeks for you. Being that he estimated 4 to 6 weeks with me on the phone before I ordered, I'll be a little upset if it takes that long. But then again, if I wait 6 weeks, whats the difference of waiting another 2. :)

nice rack!!! i've seen your pastel and he is awesome. the het caramels are real nice too. even after you get the babies, growing them to breeding size really humbles you and makes you appreciate morphs and breeders more.

Yeah I knew going in it may be awhile, but with Adam taking care of my babies I wasn't too pressed. (well maybe just a little) I hope you have better luck than I did, but you'll love it once you finally get it.

Thanks Vaughn. I think I'm the only one who hasn't seen that pastel. Everyone keeps telling me he's beautiful. Next week won't come fast enough. I'm still in awe of all the work that goes into these guys. From raising hatchlings to breeding, and incubation and just the general thought and planning that goes into them as well. It's something I hope to experience if only on a much, much smaller scale.

Looking at those tubs on here, the pictures are probably quite deceiving - what size/age of Ball Pythons can you store in each tub? They look quite small in the photos.

Also, when checking out the webpage for these racks, I found the following paragraph interesting:
    Quote:

When you compare apples to apples RhinoRaxx are your very best buy ! For instance; Take this rack as offered elsewhere. Our price is $349.00. Now deduct $45.00 for the best heating system available today. Deduct $30.00 because if you purchase a knock down version of a rack elsewhere, you will have to purchase your own tubs. Then deduct the $40.00 shipping others will charge you and our price after taking these things into account is only $234.00 in single rack quantities! Only $184.00 each when ordered in quantiies of eight! Plus the rack is ALREADY assembled. Now compare that to the competition. When you compare apples to apples RhinoRaxx are and have always been your very best buy !
He's saying that after deducting all these extra costs (shipping, heating, tubs), his racks are only $234, but in all reality, he's not deducting these cost, and in fact you aren't paying $234, rather the full $349. I'm not saying his price is too hight, but this paragraph seems a little "off," doesn't it? Am I just reading it wrong, or has he phrased this completely wrong? From the way he describes it, he's going to reduce the price of these items from the $349 price-tag, but actually doesn't.

Re: Feel free to check out my rack! ;)
I think what he's trying to show you is a stark comparison of basic rack pricing as his is a plug and play type of thing...the rack is fully assembled with heat installed and shipping included in his price. Some of the other manufacturers "may" seem cheaper but then when you add in your heating choice, assembly issues and shipping they may or may not be in fact cheaper. At least I think that was his point.

In the end lots of research and asking opinions from folks that are actually using a rack from a certain manufacturer is, I think, the way to get the best bang for your buck.

How so? ... he's just describing the "bare bones" price so that the consumer can compare his racks dollar for dollar with other manufacturers that do not include shipping, heat, & tubs in their pricing.

Who's more confusing ... the guy that gives one flat price for everything including shipping or the guy that advertises a "base price" and then starts adding money on for "extras"?

    Made sense to me. :D:D:D

Those are 32qt Sterilite tubs, they're actually quite large. On Boaphile's site, they say that they're perfect for 4 1/2 ft Balls. I'm using mostly the 16qt tubs, in my rack, and I've heard that they can support up to around 700-800g snake. Remember that Balls like small, tight spaces. It may look small to you, but it'll be a more secure snake and will probably feed better for you as well!
