She doesn't look right. Need some advice
So I picked up this albino female this morning locally. The seller said she is 3 years old and weighs 1044 grams. Said she eats a small f/t rat weekly.
My initial thought when he handed her to me was "why is she so small and what's up with her skin?" I wasn't 100% sure about getting her, but I said to myself "maybe she's not being taken care of properly " so I brought her home.
I haven't weighed her yet because I don't want to stress her out. I'm just concerned about her skin being loose or saggy? Not sure if that's what you call it or not.
I have had snakes for a while and currently have 7. I have never seen one like this.
Thanks in advance for your help!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...99313657a9.jpg

anyways she looks fine enough that a few hearty meals won't fix. she's got the opposite of fat rolls, a lil flab of skin prob from losing weight. i just hope there's not an underlying feeding issue.
I was thinking the same. But he said she just ate Saturday. Im just hoping she's not dehydrated. Maybe I'm just over reacting. I just want the best for my animals and taking care of them properly is key with me.

I agree, aside from looking a little thin she is beautiful.
As long as she's eating I wouldn't sweat it.
I'll find out in a few days after she settles in. Thanks.

She looks fine to me. Did she recently lay eggs? My females look like fat giant slugs when they are gravid, then they look like emaciated bags of skin and bone after laying eggs

Most snakes in captivity are obese, so skinny ones look weird to us.

He said she has never been bred.

Not all sellers tell the truth, or the whole truth...not if they think the sale depends on their answer. To me she looks either like she's been under-fed for a while, or
like she has laid eggs & not regained her body weight back. Another possibility is something "stealing" her food: meaning intestinal parasites. I would get her stool
checked ASAP. Pretty snake, hope you get to the bottom of this.

So I messaged the seller and he said he just started feeding her small rats in Feb.
"Yeah, I've had no problems with her eating. She has been eating small rats regularly since February and before then she was eating 2 mice per feeding"
Maybe that's why she is on the small side for being 3 years old.

A snake that's taking in plenty of food & remains underweight with a deflated look may have something going on. It doesn't always occur to ppl that a snake can have
worms, because they're eating reliably & it just doesn't seem like anything is wrong. Getting her stool checked would be on my agenda in the near future, assuming he
has been accurate about her food intake & breeding status.

I fed her just under a small size live rat and she took to it without a hitch. I'll just keep an eye on her and see how she does. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2635ef9f9a.jpg

Maybe consider a 30 minute soak ..
If it is dehydration then it will instantly look ( and feel ) better ..
Just a thought ..
Soaking seems more prevalent over here in the uk , for some reason .

Beautiful adult albino! I really hope the girl I have now holds that contrast.
