Updated my set up
Hello! It's been a while since I have posted anything but I decided to update my cage a little. Husbandry has basically been perfect but my male hasn't eaten in a couple of months (He's always been a picky eater so I'm not too concerned). I decided I wanted to clutter up their cages some and decided to just completely update the look of my cages. Tell me what you think!

Looks great! Where did you get those rocky looking hides in the middle?

Looks awesome! Are those TGR enclosures or Animal Plastics? I'm thinking of upgrading my son's BP enclosure if you don't mind telling me what make and model those are?
Thanks!

I've seen those at PetSmart. They're a newer model.

I believe they are called the rock lair by zilla. They are a newer model although I wouldn't recommend these if you use heat tape because the bottom is very thick. My cages are heated with a radiant heat panel. I plan on using these as humidity hides when the snakes are in shed.

I'm a huge fan of naturalistic looking enclosures, so in my eyes the new setup looks FANTASTIC!!! Great job!!!:gj:

That looks marvelous! Out of curiosity, are both your BPs fully grown? Mine are currently around 10 months old, and one of them loves his medium-size Zilla rock lair but is probably going to outgrow it within the year. Would you say the large-size rock lair is roomy enough to be a regularly used hide for an adult male BP?

Both my ball pythons are around 1500 grams last I check. My male is 5ish? years old but he looks a little deflated since he has been on a fast. He also hasn't used the hide yet but it's only been in the cage for a day My female is 3 years and also about 1500 grams but she is chunky. She seems to lift the top up slightly if she balls up tightly. I'm trying to find a way to secure the lid with a latch of some sort so it stays attached when she moves. I'll post some pictures when I get home.

Of course both of my snakes are going into shed! Below is my female who weighs a little under 1.6k grams who fits into the hide. It's a little snug but there is quite a bit of height to the hide so she can ball up well. She also peed in the hide literally 24 hours into adding the hide to their enclosure so there is enough room for that! She seems to really be enjoying the hide.
Going into the hide:

She is inside the hide in this photo and you can see how secluded the cave is for the snake

Here she is in the hide

Random old picture when the snakes aren't in shed, haha!

Thanks for all the pictures, Medli! It looks like a snug fit like you said, but then again, that seems to be exactly how BPs like it, lol. Your girl certainly seems reluctant to leave it, even after you removed her "roof"! Also, I love that last picture, it's really nifty to see their colors and patterns alongside each other.

Thank you! My male is a normal. I really like how their colors contrast. I think that is what influenced me to get the female haha. I think she loves how snug it is but I think she still has some growing to do as she seems to always be getting bigger even though I think she's about 3 or so now.

Their colors do complement each other very well! And lol, I think BPs never completely stop growing over the course of their lifetimes; it's just that the rate of growth slows down significantly in adulthood compared to the juvenile years.
