Next time I go I will take some photos holding some of their animals. This weekend I am going to go look at a Ternate Plat Jag at EEE. Oh and on a side note. My VE-6 shipped yesterday.

Very cool. I wish I had a shop like that near me.

Yeah the owner is a really cool guy. I can't wait to go see the shipment of SD Retics he is getting this week. I have to wait a minimum of 8 weeks before I can take one home though. He wont sell a snake unless its eaten 8 times.

Wow!!! Eight meals huh? That seems like overkill to me, but I'd rather that than the alternative.
Shows he cares, that's for sure.

FYI, those Ternates you’re calling Super Dwarf are not technically SD. Sure, they do seem to stay smaller but 12’ isn’t exactly what most would consider SD. Also bear in mind that the platinum jags from some of those pairings that Rodney made have some % of mainland blood to get the morphs into those ternate bloodlines. Expect to drop probably ~$1500+ for a pure ternate

Yes I believe they are 50% Ternate. I am looking for one to be no larger than 13' as that is the max size I can fit in my large Tubs. I did not know they weren't considered SD. Thanks for the information. I can drop that amount of money If I need to, but I am really interested in the morphs.

Unless you’ve got tubs that are 6’x3’ minimum, I think you will be very under equipped to house a 13’ retic in a tub. These are a very active, very athletic species. Particularly these ternate crosses which are coming from wild caught bloodlines. Picture what the movements of a 13’ colubrid would be like. Expect something similar to that with these island locality influenced retics

So do I...but it would be "dangerous" in terms of temptations, so maybe it's just as well.

It looks like a really well-kept shop & I LOVE hearing that they insist on feeding 8 times before they'll sell an animal...it sounds like something I'd do in their "shoes".
Shipping is stressful & pet stores are stressful: this way the animals can adjust & hopefully stay healthy, & customers have a better experience too.

These are the dimensions of the tubs:

    9.5" x 31" x 40"

If its not enough, thats fine I will just stick with Boas or other pythons

Yeah that's too small of a tub for a that type of retic IMO

edit to add - I don't think those dims would work for any retic actually. Smaller localities and such also seem to like to climb more as well.

Ok, thats cool. I will just find another snake to keep. With the V180 I can keep quite a few different species.
