Need some name help..For a rather ugly boa
Ive got a boa that is, to put it bluntly, very ugly..Some kind of hypo gone wrong...So I need a name for her(female)..I was thinking Grub but wanted some other ideas. Thanks. She is just 200 grams so still quite young and fairly mellow..I will try and get a pic up.

I'm very curious for a pic also, but I'd hate to see you give her a complex about her looks, so maybe an "opposite" name would be more tactful? Like the way ppl
who are huge get nick-named "Tiny". Because so many people fear & dislike snakes, when I took in a yearling boa (BCI) many years ago because no one wanted
this ornery thing that hissed & BIT people at every chance, I named her "Snookums" (as in "Baby Snookums") because (A) it made people giggle (including me,
picturing her in a baby bonnet...) & (B) because it reminded me that she was just a scared baby boa, not "The Evil One Incarnate". :D Guess what? After I
worked with her some, she grew up completely sweet, & never bit me even once. So please pick a good (positive) name, not an "ugly" one. Negative names
influence YOUR subconscious too, you know... ;)

Name her something nice so she feels pretty! I'm also super curious to see this boa. I actually can't imagine any snake being too ugly, they are all cute in their own way :D

The good thing about hypos is they might get nicer looking as they age. I bet it's dark and muddy and speckly? I know some really don't look all the great. I hope she turns out nicer in the long run, looking forward to the pick of the 'ugly duckling'.
You could name her Swan? If she's all speckly, maybe PepperPotts? I also do like Grub heh

Here as some name ideas, a picture would help in picking out a name too as I like to see the colors and whatnot while naming.
Medusa, Fluffy, Cuddles, Banshee, Athena, Minerva, Xena, River, Mystique, Trinity, Zazu, Bella, Nessie, Precious, Squiggles, Helga, Matilda, Ouroboros. Well that's all I can think of, hope my little list helps. :)

It was my fault as I assumed she would be a darker normal, with more contrast. Im not a big fan of hypos (assuming shes a hypo, Im not that good)..She is growing on me though

Aww.. she's cute! I definitely vote for Pepper.

She looks a lot like my hypo girl, maybe a bit fewer freckles.

She's not that ugly at all! In that case, I think Pepper's definitely a great name.

Far from ugly, great looking Boa. My hypo shows a lot more red but you have a pretty snake there. Pepper is a good name.

I like the speckling on her, my Nicaraguan has alot of speckles too, the hypo gene often cleans up pretty well with age too as already said
I think pepper is a good name too

Ugly? Not at all, not in the least. Personally I love the speckling, and she looks like she has a nice red tail. What's not to like?

    I say Pepper also.

Ok, I retract my Kardashian name theme. That snake is far too pretty to be a Kardashian.

Okay well Pepper seems to be the deciding vote. So Pepper she is..I do like the speckles on her.

Aww, what a cutie. That is not what I would consider an 'ugly' hypo, I mean, yes, she's not amazing expression or anything but she is actually quite nice with decent color and contrast. She'll look better as she ages when that base color loses the greys and becomes more intense yellow/tan.

I think hypos tend to be a bit muddy and unimpressive when adults..I mean they are still great snakes, color isnt an end all. Im sure there are some gorgeous hypos but the majority Ive seen have been bland....I love contrast but its okay. She will be my pet and with me to the end, Ive had to rehome too many snakes over the years due to unforeseen events..But not anymore.
