    Green And Gold.
Well, the weather was finally nice enough, and I had the time, and this was the result. The sun was directly overhead.

I took Wallace out for an I-Phone X SMax photo shoot. I was solo so I was not able to use the pro style camera.

These came out OK, and I decided to deviate from the traditional deck rail pictures. Let me add that he is in the early stages of shed here so these colors are still not his best. However he looks pretty slick here.

He didn't really want to leave my leg, and he kept coming back to me after I set him completely in the grass.

This is a really nice shot of his length. I tried to get his length off the measuring APP on my phone, but the one time he decided to explore and not come back to me, was when I was messing with the APP. Sorry, I still have no idea how long he is, well say 8.5' to 9'.

The contrast with the green grass makes his colors pop even in a pre-shed state. I still find the Tiger pattern on retics my favorite of all snakes.

He's 11 days away from being 3 years old, he's filled out, lean, extremely strong and in excellent shape. He's really pretty decent despite some of the retic quirks he has.
I know a few people that have had tough times with this species. I'm pretty lucky and thankful I've had a fairly easy ride.

    He's a keeper!

Wow, what a stunning retic! That rainbow sheen on his scales looks just amazing. His colours and the contrast of his patterns are so beautiful too (can't believe he's nearing shed!). He looks very healthy and well cared for :)

He's in the very early stages of shed, but I can see it coming a mile away. The head shot is a bit more telling than the body shots.

    Thanks for the kind words.

    Thanks,

Picture 1 and 3 seem very over exposed. I'm not sure how that happened as I think the originals looked better before I uploaded them.
It was the best I could do for the day.

Wow, I can’t believe he’s almost 3 years old already! He looks great. Glad he is a keeper for ya.

Love that pic on his length, I just kept scrolling and scrolling......

I never could get consistent measurements from my IPhone app, glad it’s working for you.

Beautiful snake, that's quite a shine! Love the way this "big ferocious snake" hangs onto your ankle for security, lol...

Looks good. You're the last of us "old timer" retic owners. Grats.

Retics are so beautiful. Looks healthy and great to see him outside. Rainbow latches on to my leg when outside as well. I think it is because she sees me as safety. Either way, nice photos.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the updates from you guys.

They are a great species, but everything has to go right and fall into place to keep them.

I consider myself a very new owner, even after 2 years.

Had I had the same issues you guys dealt with I likely would have re-homed this guy.

Things seem to be going well, and with the growth slowing I'm fairly confident I can manage this fella solo even if he adds another foot.

Yesterday was a big plus as his behavior was stellar!

As I suspected, he is in the shed process.
He took to his hide a day after the photos and he only ventures out this far. He will refuse food now until the process is complete.

I like the timing of this because there is a decent chance he'll be finishing up around his June, 1st third birthday.

I will try to get outdoor pictures after a fresh shed and see what his colors look like. Reticulated pythons are one of few species of snake that seem to improve colorwise with age.

Also, notice even at a fairly substantial size, he still fits into his tortoise shell hide.

    Stay tuned.
