Guesses, anyone? Part orange eyes?
I bought this guy as a Lesser Ghost, but the breeder said that was wrong since when he was bred, Mojaves resulted.
My best guesses are spider (he has a slight wobble and the way he is whiter on the bottom half of his alien heads) Pastel (his color and browning out top half of the alien heads) and maybe Lesser (overall appearance). But he doesn't look like that combo. He may be a dad this breeding season so I may yet get some clarity.
So what genes do you see? Also, what besides orange dream causes slight peach/orange in the bottom of the alien heads and partial orange eye color? His eyes are highlighter orange.
Also, he has 3 ringers. Don't know if that helps.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...40b9ced3ab.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1f9ed8dfb4.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0f071832e5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...28b9a6d67a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e908106851.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bc92803bfa.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2795fa4d82.jpg

I'm clueless when it comes to morphs but I just had to say, that snake has some very amazing beautiful eyes! Congrats on your new ball python. :)

Re: Guesses, anyone? Part orange eyes?
Lack of a head-stamp makes Spider unlikely.
Lack of reduced patterning/head-stamp makes Orange Dream unlikely.
Just guessing on pictures alone, I would say: Lesser Ghost - with High White Blush.
Given the oddball ringer-like markings, the brighter color than expected for a Lesser Ghost, and the awesome orange eye tinge (neat photo btw!) - I would also guess Het for Albino (of some form).

Thanks so much! I've actually had him for about 1.5 years now. It just sometimes takes me awhile to ask questions and share my thoughts with the community. I usually share when I get nothing new when Googling all the aspects of something, haha.

Thanks for being specific, I appreciate that! Do you know if there is a more inclusive form of albinism, almost like a lowest common denominator? Sort of like there is ghost, then orange ghost is more specific, and then green ghost more specific and no longer compatible?

Aside from Albino vs. Lavender Albino as two non-compatible albinism morphs and the Candy and Toffee genes being allelic to 'normal' Albino to produce the Candino and Tofino I am not aware of any additional (proven) genes available at the moment.

I with most of this, but I have never noticed that a snake that is het for albino that did not appear any different than the sum of the rest of the genes. I have regular albinos and lavenders. Did I miss something?

that's not a Queen Bee (Lesser Pastel Spider) and most def no OD in there. i think the orange eye is just part of the eyestripe under the eyeball but it's really cool that it is orange.

yeah i agree. i haven't heard about about het Albino markers esp. when ringers are more common het Pied markers. usually if there if there is some kinda aberration in a BP, we do attribute it to it being het something. if u are on to something w/ het Albino markers (or for other recessives), please make a thread to elaborate for the benefit of all.
Edit: also what do u mean this BP fathered Mojave's? was he paired to a Mojo or Mojo combo?
very interesting snake for sure.

The breeder gave me a good deal on Bach (the snake in question) because he said he had received Bach as a Lesser Hypo from another breeder friend. He tried to pair Bach with one of his females (never told me her morph or history) but the female went on to produce some mojaves in the clutch, which he claimed was Bach's contribution. Thus he gave me an awesome deal on Bach while he "went home to wash his girls out with other snakes."
I have 3 clutches on the way that he maybe contributed to, but no luck yet as I got him to be inspiration to my other male, Sage, and my 2 clutches in previous years were both sired by Sage.

I’m not the best with morph identification what about a pastave with lesser or ghost that one kinda looks like mine just lighterhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...85b9e90196.jpg

yes, that's true.
also i'm not even sure that Bach, your snake in question is a Ghost visual. he doesn't have the blue tint or glow.

I agree that I don't think he is ghost because his shed skins, while light, do have color to them. I was wondering, could he be an incubator oops or something? He does have the slight spider wobble when about to strike, which I also don't necessarily see spider so maybe a temperature issue may explain both his looks and his atypical neuro manifestations.

TBH i kinda think the breeder u bought him from might not be the best. Morph ID wrong for this snake, prob morph ID wrong w/ the clutch that had Mojo's or lost track of pairings, possible incubation/ issues (or heating or chemicals) that caused neuro issues, etc.

I can tell you what I don't see
Not a Mojave
Not a Ghost
Now what do I see
I see lesser the rest it's gonna have to be a mystery until you prove it out or forever
Now for those saying no Spider because no Spider head pattern, keep in mind some Spider have normal head pattern Black Pastel Queen Bee for example.
Bottom line you can't call this snake anything just like you can't call the person you got it from a breeder, while a breeder may not always know what's in a snake (and you may get an extra bonus) they don't sell an animal as Lesser Ghost and it does not resemble a Lesser ghost and it's not like it's not a mutation that has not been around for a long time.

Re: Guesses, anyone? Part orange eyes?
To be fair to the individual I got Bach from, he told me he wasn't sure and admitted the label was most likely incorrect. He gave me an excellent price. He had a booth at the Portland, ME expo and a business name. I chose Bach for his health (the slight jiggle showed itself when feeding) and his interesting looks.
I wish only to share him as a point of interest. Parts of what draw me to snake keeping are the puzzling out over time the mysteries, the learning and the science. I learn so much from you guys and besides conundrums like this I wouldn't have much to share.
So I appreciate everyone's guesses, wrong or right, and if Bach ends up being a dad one clutch, I will let you all know what happens!
