Serpents in the parlor -- snakes meet 1/3 scale dolls
As some of you have seen, I enjoy taking pictures of my snakes on miniature scale furniture. :) As young BPs, they currently fit best on 1/6 scale props, but as they've been growing fast, I figured I'd introduce them to some of the 1/3 scale dolls whose chairs they'll probably be stealing by next year.

Here's my BEL Ravus with Abigail, the girl in blue.

And here is Ignis (Cinnamon Enchi Ghost) with Genevieve, the lady in red.

Will my BPs ever reach this size proportionate to me? Probably not. Someday I may look into boa constrictors or larger to get the big snake experience. In the meantime, this is plenty of fun as it is!

Hey, Red, I showed your pix to my sil, who's not into snakes at all (but into crafts & such), she was VERY impressed at how well your photos come together.
    I knew she'd like them...;)

Thanks so much, to you and your sis-in-law! I love seeing glimpses of others sharing their hobbies and daily activities with their snakes too, so I enjoy showcasing the shenanigans we get up to over here. :D

LOL! The hilarious thing is, when I shared these pics on some doll forums/groups too, they consider the dolls par for the course but the snakes are the "weird" part! :P I guess it just goes to show that both hobbies could be considered odd or creepy, but are just frequently misunderstood and actually full of fun!

Thank you! I love having fun with my snakes, as long as they're comfortable with it. Most of the worry was just making sure they didn't pee or poop on those fancy doll dresses!

Awesome pictures, the little ball pythons look like big Burmese when comparing it to the dolls size. I always enjoy your cute pictures of snakes on tiny furniture, it's just so adorable. :)

Heh, it's the pocket-sized version of the Burmese python experience. ;) If they didn't have the proportionately big heads of juvenile BPs, the illusion would be even more convincing! And thank you, I'm always on the lookout for more fun (but safe!) props to photograph my snakes with.

Though you'd never know it now, I was also totally not a doll person through my childhood or teen years, haha. I somehow fell into the hobby in ... college, I think? These types of ball-jointed dolls mainly originate in Japan, South Korea, and China, and I do remember seeing them in a shop window in Beijing (where my mother's side of the family lives) and going "whoa ..."

It certainly gave me a real springboard for artsy-craftsy shenanigans -- taking photos, sewing clothes for them, hunting for miniature props and furniture in antique stores, you name it. And now my snakes get to reap the benefits! (Except for the clothes. I don't think they want clothes.)

This looks awesome and really cool! Your photoshoots are the best, I'm always so impressed by how well you theme and colour coordinate them, and the creative ideas you come up with!
