    Re: Lost Ball Python
If it has not been lost for a long time, Most likely it is within a 3 ft radius of the enclosure. Check under and in everything in that area first...the bp may also seek warm spots so look near electronics.

Hope you find the little one.

They usually do not wonder off too far from their enclosures. Search at night. Leave water bowls so that she can drink. Sprinkle flour along your door ways so you know if she crosses rooms. Put plastic bags along the walls so you can hear her at night. Once again search at night and leave plenty of water! Good Luck! I once lost one of my bps only to find her again four months later. Keep ur hopes up!

yea my houdini loves to give me heart attacks, everything in his cage is as it should be and its completely secure, but somehow he seems to still get out every so often (hence the name Houdini ;) ) hes normally under my couch or in our shoes, try checking those, for some reason they seem to love stinky feet smell!

look by your refrigerator and water heater. anything that puts off heat. when i was younger i found mine on a lower level then i had him right next to the refrigerator. careful if you move the fridge so you don't hurt her.

I've lost snakes before, only found one of them. Though the smaller they are the easier it is for them to get outside. How big is he/she?? Try staying up late with all the lights off, but one heat lamp and hang it off a chair near the floor so as to make a basking spot. You can use a smaller light to read by if you need, but no others!! Turn all the heat off and he/she will probably come. This is the only way I have ever found a snake that has been gone awhile.

look completely through the room where he got out. when i lost zulu the first time he's been gone a few hours and was just behind his cage and the second time he'd been gone a night and a day and was in my closet two feet from his cage. it seems like as soon as they get out they seek shelter so he's probably not far from his cage.

    Re: Lost Ball Python
Well, my lil monty got out 2 times since ive had him, and it was my fault for not having a secure lid, but basically, he got out once for a week, and shows up in the kitchen, downstairs, by the ledge area around the floor near the counter, partly hidden. My lil sis found his sneaky slitherin self there. The second time it was for a day and a night, the power went out, and I went upstairs after it came back on to do a handleing seccion, and he was gone. Left water out and end up finding him downstairs again, under the drier in the washroom, which is right near my door downstairs, my stepdad said that the cat kept watching the area and he walked by and the cat wasnt there and he saw his snakey self popped out halph way under the washroom door. Basically, your gonna find him/her if you tear a room apart, or by chance and run accross it one night. So dont worry, and look, hard. Once you get it back, secure the cage, put peights on the top/lid and such so your lil escapee cant get out, they can squeez through anything that is relatively light, or you can get your pinky through. I put him in a glass cage w/ 5lb weights on each end when I found him the second time. Good luck... you'll find him, Im sure.;)

    Re: Lost Ball Python
I read somewhere to put a freshly p/k rat in a container with a hide on the floor in the room where you think that the bp may be. Leave that room for the night, and hopefully the bp will eat the rat and then "hide" in the hide and you'll find him in the morning. Have you tried something like this yet?

Don't know if it will work but worth a try.

Check under the sink or anywhere else there might be a hot-water pipe accessible.

At my stepson's school, they had a leucistic texas rat snake escape, and she was gone over a month before they found her, so don't give up hope.

I hope you find you bp, I know if I lost mine I'd probably spend a week being depressed. A friend of mine actually did lose his bp, poor little guy was only about 2ft long, somehow he made it into the heating ducts of his house and passed away, to make matters worse he had to move because if he turned the heat on...bleh.:puke:

WELL THE SEARCHING IS DONE

    I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!:psychotic
I could run around the world ten times without stopping. NO JOKE

OKay heres how it happened... i was at school and everything went as normal. When My mom picked me up she told me what happened and i was so happy!!!
She told me that when she was packing up one of the bathrooms she saw my ball python (eskimo) curled up on the hot and cold knobes.... She freaked out and told my sister to go get her and they wwere so scareds rthgey brought the cage and the hook in the bathroom and used the hook to get her in there. I knew we would find her... I never gave up.
Well when i came home i held her for an hour or so and also made sure she wasnt dehydrated or had no cuts!! SHE DIDNT!!!

I am so thrilled to have her back :D
