2 New Additions to my Clown project
I picked these up at the last show. The are both het Clown. I'm starting to get a good mix of genes to play with that are carrying Clown. I imagine by the time I start producing anything Clown, it will be done to death. Doesn't matter though because I just like to breed for me and combos I want to see. Without further ado, here they are.

    1.0 Black Pastel het Clown

0.1 Leopard Yellowbelly Pastel het Clown

Sincerely two beautiful additions, I’m fond of black pastel and the leopard yellow belly is stunning. Best of luck, I hope you make your dream snakes!

Those are great pick ups, especially that beautiful girl! I haven’t bought any clowns...yet anyway. I keep looking at the banana clowns, but I do not need more snakes.

Not sure what you're waiting for. The het stuff is getting really inexpensive. You could probably pick up a female that is a single gene het for $200 or less depending on the gene. Then start saving for a nice multi gene het male and pick him up in a year. One more year out and you're ready to take a shot at producing something with Clown.

Thanks Craig. As unbelievable as it seems, the picture doesn't do her justice and she is already over 300 grams.

Thank you. I don't know what my dream snake is, but I love the journey just the same.

Thank you. I have a Banana Lesser possible het for Clown that I picked up from Deborah, our Moderator here on the forum. He's a stunner and I hope he proves out. BTW, You always need more snakes! :)

Thanks. I assume you meant Black Pastel. It's weird because it is one of the original base genes that I have never worked with before, but don't really have a reason why. Just never seemed to look at it, or the Cinnamon combos much. I will say that a Black Pastel Albino has a great pattern.

I'm not even really planning to do anything with it for now, no other clown stuff, but I picked up a Lesser Fire Pinstripe 100% het clown male for $125 at NARBC Arlington.

Nice pickups! I doubt clown stuff will be done to death anytime soon lol. Seems like every year something new and amazing pops up and gets more people interested.

Can get some sick combos from those! Hopefully your male will get the job done! My black pastel lesser het clown didn't want anything to do with our females this season :rolleye2:

That's a gorgeous example! She's probably the first I've seen that I think is as gorgeous as my leopard pastel het clown girl. You didn't happen to get her from Justin Kobylka did you? They honestly look like they could be sisters.

I kind of feel the same about the clown project. I was super excited when I got into it but it seems like the leopard clown stuff is already getting over done. This year I think shes going to go and the best I can get is killer leopard clowns which by no means is boring but I just don't have that same excitement for it as I did originally. Because she is so nice there is no way I plan to sell her but next year I think I am going to take her in a completely different direction that won't take advantage of her being het for clown but could produce some really gorgeous animals. That's one really nice thing about choosing a quality animal for your hets, even if you go a different direction they can still be very useful.

Got a little off topic, anyway, congrats on a gorgeous animal and good luck with your projects.

Thank you. I picked her up from Carlos Ramirez at OTB Reptiles. He produces some pretty nice Clown stuff. I agree with you that if the genes are quality, it only requires the vision on your part as to where to go with them. Best of luck to you.
