Super cute, congrats on the new farm and new babies! Chickens are awesome pets and it's nice to have fresh eggs every morning :) I used to have a Buff Orpington in a small flock and she was super sweet.

Just make sure that the coop is entry-proof, predators will take any chance they can get to break in and the smallest mistake like leaving a door unlatched can result in a wipe out.

They suggest they be refered to as:

-2 easter eggers - Cadbury and reese
    -turken named Becky
    -golden laced Wyandotte - bouillon
    -light brahma - drumstick
    -2 black australorps - Yummy thing 1 and 2
    -buff orpington - dumplings

    :D;)

    Congrats on the new farm!

Second on the predator warning. Predators that haven left more or less dismembered bodies at my place: barn rats, feral cats, neighbor dogs, coyote, fox, raccoon, mink, great horned owl, fox snake. Beware of the skunk on the porch after dark! :tears:

Is it paranoia when they really are out to get your birds?

Thanks just the same, lol...I don't have to drive far to be near farms here. ;) This is a rural "town". I even pass a herd of longhorns
    not far from the SuperWalmart...

The birds second day they were allowed out in their run we went to put them in the coop just before dark and they had already put themselves in there ready to sleep for the night. Glad they know where they are supposed to roost.

The one pictured above is one of our favorites. Unfortunately it has recently gotten larger body wise and feather length than the others. Just this morning while I was feeding them it started to crow, so looks like we have at least 1 rooster. There is a chance one of the others is a rooster too since they are starting to fight.

Our favorite bird plus one other got exchanged from the place we got them because they were roosters. The two new birds we got are Easter eggers. They are slowly being integrated into the flock. They are with the other six but stay to their selves. The other six have supervised free range rights but typically don't stray far from the coop. After a few days of training 4 of the 6 come running when I call them.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8721a2d04d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6f549f2300.jpg

Blue laced red Wyandotte and 4 olive eggers.

We also added a lavender orpington at some point last year. These girls love taking dust baths and napping in the sun.
