This happened at Tinley
So I picked up this guy at Tinley, which I think I may have got for a good of a price. $700, opinions ?
Purple Motley Suntiger Citron
I'm not too familiar with retic morphs.
This is my first retic and couldn't be more excited, my wife actually said yes !!!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...654c032464.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4fd53e5572.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7747b8da11.jpg

I'm not one bit familiar with them, all I can say is that he's very handsome...and I'm so glad he's yours, not mine. :D (I just like 'em to stay smaller...)

Thank you, I think that's the only reason wife said yes because of how handsome he is. I have been trying for about 2 years now with no success until now!!

I was thinking how innocent & pretty he looks- yes I do think that helped. ;) Hope he doesn't grow too fast for her, lol.

Thank you, I definitely think so, I'm wanting him to be the center piece decoration of my store.

Thank you, she isn't a dwarf or a SD, does that make them more expensive ?

it depends. morph for morph, yes the dwarf and SD are more expensive. however, not nearly as many morphs available in the smaller ones (yet).

Can you tell me why ? I would think the bigger one would be more? I don't plan on breeding this boy, he is just a pet, but because I breed other reptiles, my breeder in me gets curious lol.

As far as I know, most if not all morphs come from mainland retics, so to get morphs, especially recessives like albino, into the dwarf/super dwarf locales AND keep percentages of dwarf blood high enough to retain a genetically smaller snake, it takes much more work and years of crossing than just getting a recessive in a mainland where you aren't also focused on retaining higher percentages of dwarf blood. I am not really sure how it all gets calculated, but it is complex to mix and get morphs and high dwarf percentages.
Also, bigger ones in general are more common and there is high demand for "small" retics that won't get huge, so high demand and lower supply also raises the prices.
