Caramel Diamond Jungle :)
She's here, she's here! I ordered this girl back in November from KD Selective Creations and the weather finally warmed up enough to ship! I'm super happy with her and the whole process with her breeder. He produces some absolutely unreal carpet crosses. She's from a Sharp line Gamma x Caramel pairing.
I still need a name though. I'm torn between Merida and Fleur but am open to other suggestions as well. :)https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e15f3704f7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7a806a353d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8e1a2b161b.jpg

Awesome find. Happy she is safe with you.

Re: Caramel Diamond Jungle :)
Very Very beautiful addition. Both your names you choose are great. Merida means "pearl" and Fleur means "flower". I kinda like Merida though ...like a precious gem, pearl. :D

Beautiful carpet! They do have some amazing animals...I’ve drooled on their MM page.

She’s a beauty, congratulations. Definitely nice, way cool. Thanks for sharing.

Really eager to see how this one changes over time! Beautiful snake. In my opinion, a carpet python is the best all around snake to keep. They check every box for me.

Oooh, I kind of like Pearl! My husband is being stubborn and really wants this snake's name to start between letters D - L. He says we have too many snakes with A to C names and too many from M to Z, lol. But will he suggest any ideas? Of course not.

Sooo many pretty snakes. His prices are actually really reasonable ::wink wink:: I know you've said you might want to add a carpet...

I'm really excited as well. She's very pixelated looking in person, something I really like.

Another stunning addition!

You’re not a bad influence, not at all! :D
I have one more bp coming once the weather stays consistent, which will make 18 snakes total. Because I added 3 bps that were not in my original plan, I need to see how funds and space work out. I plan to add Reptile Basics cages for the 4 currently in quarantine and the one still to come. So....another stack of 5 which will require rearranging the current footprint in my reptile room. I’m 2-3 months out before everyone is out of quarantine and new cages are ordered, arrive, and get set up. Then I’ll see how much money and room I have left (biggest 2 factors).
In the meantime I will dream and drool....and live vicariously through you folks who already have carpets. I’ve already pretty much decided if I do get another carpet, I’ll be looking for either a jungle or Irian Jaya. I’ve had both and loved them, plus they’re a little smaller. At this point in life, I’m not looking to add anything over 5’-6’.

Thanks! She has a pretty distinct head pattern, but my phone makes it look like it's blurred together. Give me a sec and I'll post a fairly recent photo her breeder sent me after she shed the 4th time that shows her markings a lot more clearly. :)
So far I've only handled her for about 5 minutes after unboxing. She was a bit skittish but didn't seem overly jumpy or defensive. Was alert, active, and already has an awesome grip. I'm picking up more feeders at Tinley this weekend and will try to offer a meal then. I'm really hoping she's a better eater than our IJ. She already has some decent size to her, so hopefully she'll eat no problem.
I've been pretty lucky so far with carpet temperament. Hopefully Cookie calms down soon! The biggest trick is getting them out of their cages, lol. Half the time I still have to take whatever they're wrapped around out with them.

Here's a photo (not mine, taken by her breeder) that shows off her head a bit better.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...091b44b075.jpg

Re: Caramel Diamond Jungle :)
Just an update that we've decided to name her Pixie! Partly because of her pixelated appearance, partly because it'll be kind of funny to have a pretty big snake named Pixie. :-D

Well, you should be proud of yourself Willow...I picked up a diamond jungle jaguar today. I took a friend and her daughter to the local show to pick out her first snake (bp). I was not going to buy a snake. I really wasn't. Then I passed a new vendor with a whole table of jungle carpets. [emoji849] He was handling this 2015 guy, who is super chill and already feeding on f/t. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...56d734673b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...60f4ccc99c.jpg

Oops, Dianne! Both of your snakes are gorgeous scene-stealers! Can't possibly fault either you or WhompingWillow for adding them to your homes...:D
I'm kinda glad that I live in an "out of the way" area with no expos nearby...it's much much safer this way!

I hadn’t planned on going to any shows to avoid the temptation. But I’d told my friend I would take them. I think I just need blinders.

Re: Caramel Diamond Jungle :)
Pixie has finally decided that food is good and has had a couple of meals, so we took her out tonight for some brief handling and a once over. I'm so excited that we can finally start working with her. She's a total sweetheart.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e60538a041.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5c776de14d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7e763ff9ba.jpg

She's gorgeous Willow. I can only imagine how amazing she'll be as she grows. Hope to see lots of pics :). I'm glad she's eating for you too. Once they get going they're usually full speed ahead.
