Get a boa. As adults they only eat every 3-4 weeks which leaves lots of handling time.

I can remember -WAY back when I only had one or two snakes...:D how much I hated it when they both ended up in shed at the same time...no one could
"come out & play"....:( Same thing after feeding. The "cure" was getting a lot more :snake:...

I feel you. I have two, and both are weekly feeders, so I try to stagger it out to have someone able to be held. However right now one is on a feeding strike . . which, after I stopped worrying about it, I realized I get to hold him anytime I want, for now.

I totally feel you, there is one day every 3 weeks where neither snake can come out to play because both got fed the day before.
I got a third snake.... he's not on a food schedule yet as he's new to the fold.

Handling my snakes is one of the quiet highlights of my day and I've found it always puts me in a fantastic mood.

I need more snakes, one for every day of the week. :P

I have two pythons, somehow they've been able to smell each other from across the room and sync up their shed cycles.

Some of the dwarf localities get scarcely larger than a ball python and also grow at about the same speed that paint dries... [emoji2369][emoji216][emoji216]

Lol, I've had 4 at one point. Recently I went right back to one in a nice Viv. I don't need more but it doesn't stop me looking at more almost nightly lmao.
I got an adult male crested gecko recently tho, I think they are so underated, like little dinosaurs, can handle him whenever I want.
Add to that my two ferrets, two dogs and 4 fishtanks (1 is 1100 litre) and I'm fairly occupied haha.

Very nice. If i could afford a Leechie i would have one. Maybe a Crestie they are cheaper. i dont believe in payin such high prices for my pets. My 4 dogs I adopted from a shelter. And the ones before them too. I am a rescue a stray, adopt or foster from shelter girl. I paid $300 for the ball python I have and when I got home with him I was in shock of what I did but I love him and will have him forever. I always keep my pets until they die or until I have to make a decision to put to sleep from something terrible so it's a big responsibility to own animals

My 4 ferrets keep me busy. And my one 75 gallon is enough for me. I don't envy the upkeep of your 4 tanks. I'm convinced 20 snakes would be easier than the ferrets and one fish tank.

Between my roommate and I we had 7 going at one point. But that was 20 years ago when I still had the energy for that stuff. Now one is plenty.

Yeah I have a total 1600l... I do weekly 80% waterchanges, got it down to about 2.5hrs a week now but yes it's a commitment.
Still not as hard as the dogs:-)

Man, how many/big of fish are in there that you do 80% water changes? That seems like a lot at a time.

Not that many I've cut right back for a stock change.
Going lone Channa Diplogramma and wyckii cat in the 1100.
but considering most rivers are less than 1ppm nitrate it's the least you can do.
Comes outta the tap at 30ppm in most built up areas in the UK.
Take into account nitrate creep too.
I'm 8k posts on monster fish keepers forum, it's all about fin level changes if your serious. The fish pay you back with amazing growth and colours.
I have many videos (90ish) on YouTube and 800 subs, names "Justin mfk" if anyone's interested.
Snakes are so much easier, less active tho.
I love both .. . And my gecko:-)

Owning one snake? Is that a real thing. Do people actually only own one?
