Board of Inquiry no longer available for the poor $$
I tried to look up a breeder just know, and FaunaClassifieds BOI now is only available for paying members.
That's so sad, I feel that a lot of scammers will now get away with ripping off people because not everyone will become a contributing member at FaunaClassifieds.

It's not hard to guess the reason though: like other online forums, Fauna has slowed down & they've tried to come up with ways to recoup costs and keep
the site afloat.

I agree with you. Is just sad that they chose to aid the scammers. They could have come up with many other ideas to raise money, but locking the one tool that people have to spot scammers is not cool IMHO.

When the announcement was made a while back in the BOI it was explained that over the years several varying attempts were made to raise money to keep it afloat, but none had been successful. It was also stated that it wasn't just about money. The amount of traffic into the BOI section was reviewed and taken into account when the decision was made.

Forums just don't run themselves while staff are all volunteers any forum out there has expenses, we do too which is why we also have different level of contribution which give specific perks to our members over those that chose not to be contributing members.
Now if you don't want to pay for a service that's fine no one forces you to however if you feel like the service offered by Fauna is something you need and want to keep benefiting from all you have to do is pay $25 a year that's less than <$0.07 a day

That is an unfair statement they are not choosing to aid scammers, but you know it's always easy for people to criticize others and the way they run things when you are not in their shoes.
Since it is so easy why don't you create your own online forum free of charge :confusd:

Bottom line is scammers will benefit greatly from this, that's what I wanted to point out. I wasn't trying to criticize anybody. :confusd:

Didn't mean to rub anybody the wrong way. Maybe I could have worded things differently.
I know FaunaClassifieds are not purposely aiding any scammers but they will benefit from this. As a matter of fact, scammers are probably throwing a party right now and dancing on one leg. :D

Well, whether the BOI eventually stays or goes will depend on how much support it gets.
FWIW this is strictly a business decision and unfortunately the site owner will always be at some risk of getting sued because of the BOI, and while he will likely prevail it still costs a lot of money to defend. Other sites like Yahoo, Google Reviews, Facebook, etc. have much deeper pockets.

FB has taken a lot of 'business' from traditional sites. I quit using the BOI and Fauna Classifieds years ago as well as Kingsnake.com. Easier to just join FB pages of what you are looking for and ask around on there and you will be guided to reputable breeders. There's always the FBI still on FB but thats still on FB :)
And actually this is the only webpage site i use anymore. Otherwise i am on FB most of the time.

somewhere Dustin Draper is writing and posting new ads.
