    What is your guilty pleasure?
What is something you are embarrassed to admit you like to your friends and family?

Mine is documentaries of other people's lives. I'm an intellectual person and deeply thoughtful, and like to solve problems, but when I'm tired after a long shift (I'm a nurse), or when I've been drained of all patience by my two teenage daughters, I just like to binge watch these shows and knit socks and hold my snakes. My two current ones are 90 Day Fiance and Real Housewives.

So last night I found out my boyfriend/partner likes to watch Real Housewives too!!! :rofl:I had come home from work after needing to stay late. It was my third day of work of 12.5 hour+ shifts. I was dead tired. I was thinking of just going to bed right away, and my boyfriend is sitting there working on his lego project, and he asks, "So are you going to watch Housewives tonight?" I was like "I'm tired, I think I'll just go to bed." And he was trying not to show disappointment but I could see it and he said, "Why don't you sit down and relax and watch Housewives?" And I said, "I think YOU want to watch Housewives" and he says, "Yeah I only watch it because I'm here when you have it on." So I put on an episode and he's commenting on it the whole time and paying close attention, even though he was supposedly only there to work on his Lego project.:rofl:

So confess! What is your guilty pleasure?

Well I wouldn't say I'm an Alpha male, I do enjoy hunting, fishing, hockey, and guns. I've also been married to the same wonderful woman for over 30 years.

That said, my guilty pleasure is, (he murmurs under his breath) ......... shoes.

I probably have more pairs than my wife. Yes, I know the difference between a Chelsea, a Chukka, or a Jodhpur boot. I can pick out an Oxford from a Double Monk Strap shoe and yes, I have other colors besides Black and Brown.

I will now shamefully shrink back into the shadows.

That's actually very interesting! So, I'm curious, do you also have different types of socks that go best with the different shoes?

I'm kinda similar.. I used to watch those 'real lives' series plus the gold mining ones , timber loggers and all the Alaskan families BUT then it surfaced that they're all heavily scripted / directed and I simply gave up on them ..

Not much a TV person but my guilty pleasure (also I feel no guilt) is that I am a gamer even at my age, hubby does not get it (for him it's a waste of time and stupid), for me that is how I relax (been playing on the very first game system, shows how old I am and never stopped)

I get it. I'm not a gamer, but I notice that my boyfriend needs to play his games to relax (he's in his mid 40's). I used to think it was a waste of time too, especially when watching him spend hours trying to find various pelts and rare birds in Red Dead Redemption 2. But hey, we respect each other, and it doesn't hurt anyone, so why not?

I don't really have any 'guilty' pleasures, I don't care who knows what I do or what they think about it.

In my 40s, I still enjoy dying my hair crazy colors and wearing 'weird' clothes (goth/punk/retro). I game every day on my consoles/pc - Anthem VIP demo starts today whooo! BF and I collect CEs and DB stuff, the Dragon Ball Broly movie was epic. I try my hand at art and cosplay even if I'm not that good. I love my trash tv - also currently binge watching 90 day fiance, that $12/yr hulu deal was a godsend for my scripted tv drama fix. I like drama on tv, not in real life.

Be excellent to each other! Party on dudes!

I love The Division! That and the Wildlands Ghost Recon are my favorite Tom Clancy games. I've been sucked in to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain the past month or so. Sadly I looked last night and I was still only at 8% completion. I've been hitting it hard and thought I was making real headway too lol. Games sure have come a long way from the Super Mario Bros and Mike Tyson Punch-out kind of stuff I grew up on. I love me some video games though. Metro Exodus comes out soon too. I'm really considering getting it.

Yes and No. Some of the socks go with the shoes and some just complete the outfit. That said, I am not impeccably dressed all the time, but when I dress up a bit, I'm very coordinated.

At least shoes are fairly practical. I confess to having "a few" antique African trade beads around...mostly made by skilled Venetian artisans 100-200 years
ago & used as currency in Africa until as late as the mid-1900's. Some were also traded among Native Americans. Even with (-or especially because of)
signs of usage, they're pretty cool.

And there are SO many kinds...if only they could talk. Some have been owned more recently by famous people too, but mostly one can only imagine unless
you get them from an estate sale. Hoping they "come back" as currency...

    Guilty pleasure ? Hm..
I like a lot of things but I LOVE leather boots! Good quality real leather boots !!! Cowboy boots, muck boots, ankle boots. You name it !
The better brands will offer narrow calves, since the regular ones stick out from my legs looking ridiculous !!

I also love jeans. But again, not every brand fits me well, since I don't fill them out a whole lot, LOL ! The only brand that fits well are Rock Revial skinny jeans. They fit nice, without being skin tight on me.

So yeah, I have a lot of jeans and boots! ;)

I guess my guilty pleasure is that I really appreciate good quality. In anything I get. Good tools (hate cheap tools with a passion), quality (real leather, real wood, good stone, quality china, silverware) Its not always the most expensive, sometimes you pay for the name. But I do love good quality everything I guess ;)

I collect whiskey and high end alcohol. I don’t drink much, but when I do, it’s something amazing.

Additionally, and partly not mixed with the whiskey, I like and have and race fast cars and smoke and collect fine cigars.

I do like to game. Far Cry 5 is in my PS4 right now, with Red Dead 2, Spider-Man and Assassins waiting (I’m very behind it kinda sucks to be disabled). And I do like my wrestling even though it’s a love hate kinda thing. When it’s good it’s great, but when it’s bad it’s horrible. I have way to many WWE T-shirts, my wife and daughters started giving me as gifts for a new wardrobe when I had stomach cancer five years and lost a lot of weight. And I really like the days I feel good enough to bring help and hope into my wife and daughters lives, yeah I think I like that last one best. ;) Sorry got deep. Oh and exercising or therapy which ever you choose to call it.

I have quite a few pairs of shoes (not 100!) & just a caution about them staying new when only worn a few times a year- some soles just dry out & disintegrate when
you go to wear them. Had that happen with a pricey pair I'd hardly worn & I was NOT happy! They were about 2 years old. The leather was perfect, but the soles just
    crumbled to bits! :O

but when I want to relax after a long day I enjoy a good generally craft beer

Mine is really simple, but it's not really guilty: Tinkering in image producing/editing software. I really enjoy just popping into Photoshop or Illustrator or Coreldraw or SFM or sometimes even Paint and just click around and make dumb little drawings and sprites and editing images and making posters [emoji14] It's kinda dumb and really pointless, but not quite a guilty pleasure. It is a pleasure though :D

Not terribly guilty, but I like tinkering with cocktails. My home bar probably rivals many restaurants due to my selections of liqueurs, including some that are a bit unusual. I’ve played around with some homemade simple syrups (hibiscus, lemon, and plain sugar) as well as shrubs (aka drinking vinegars - raspberry lemon so far). I typically use rum, tequila, or gin as my base spirits, but also have some bourbon, whiskey, and vodka. Quickly learned to go ahead and buy the quality ingredients because the bargain brands often taste it.

Road cycling is my big guilty pleasure, sort of. I guess it’s a lot like snakes. I’m sure some people would have a coronary over the cost of some of these Morphs and it’s no different with a nice race bike. Of course the supporting gear and clothing are quite pricey as well. i really like the Italian gear with the Italian price made in China.
I will say that I spent a lot of money on my two bikes but ( and this is where the guilt goes away) I actually ride them and they are not in a garage with stuff piled up on and around them. Lots of bicycle clothes hangers out there. It’s great excercise but it’s also a nice escape from people and life, like being a kid for a little while.

It is a pleasure though :D
