    Hobby??
What is your other hobby that drives you crazy and makes you wonder why you wanted to invest way too much money in it?

I made this one for my wife's birthdayhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0a44b2d615.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e8bb9149ea.jpg

Its a closed pattern meaning you shouldnt see any rod under or through it. The cross overs got a little out of alignment and while I was adjusting and packing them I broke ONE thread. The one I broke was deep down in the fourth or fifth pass........ That was like 7 hours down the drain.

And Dude, what you do is not a hobby. It is an art as you do it far too well to be considered a hobby!

Beautiful workmanship...betting that takes many hours. Used to watch my Dad make flies when I was growing up, another time consuming hobby but incredible creations.

That is another thing I would love to learn to do in this life. It is one thing to catch a fish on store bought stuff, its a whole different feeling when its on or with something you made. :gj:

It was worth a shot. I noticed that wonky face though....so I’m assuming we are friends now and will be expecting two. One ultralight and one 6 or 7 foot medium action.

Years ago I used to have some of the flies he made...hopefully they’re still in a box somewhere. His fly tying days are over as his hands are no longer stable enough for it. I used to find it fascinating that he’d start with a bare hook and some scraps of fluff and feathers with thin line, turning it into some type of flying creature. One of my favorites looked like a small bumble bee.
