he will grow to be between 9-12 inches long and 200-250 grams. in the rhac book there are several pics of adults--one is sitting on an adult man's forearm and takes up the better part of it. :D

very cool! awesome addition. i've been thinking about them for a couple of years now. that's a big enough gecko to look really cool in a natural viv setup.

they do have kind of a wrinkled appearance--kind of like a bull dog puppy that hasn't grown into its skin yet. :)

I've held a little one, which was about crested gecko size :P

I'd like to hold one of the adults though. Maybe someday I'll get one.

Congrats Mle. get some ruler pictures or something of the little dude so you can compare later on :)

thanks all. he is about crested gecko size right now. he only weighs 16 grams but is still almost the size visually of an adult crested. i am soooo stoked about him! :P

Which book is this? Is it pretty comprehensive with respects to Rhac's in general?

lol, i know the skin cracks me up. he has settled in very nicely--supposedly leachies can be very picky eaters and don't eat well for a while after a change in environment, etc. but this has not been the case with spud at all. the little man can put away some food! crickets, wax worms, cgd, leachie diet, pinkies--everything i've offered him so far he has devoured. :)

leachies are the most vocal gecko known according to the rhac book. they have all sorts of different calls and can actually be heard calling to eachother in the forest in new caledonia. so far spud mostly does the whistling noise when i am getting him out--it is similar to the very faint whistling noise that cresteds sometimes make when they are stressed or nervous but much louder.

aaron, this is the rhac book i am referring to: http://acreptiles.com/rhac_book.htm. it is THE most comprehensive book written on rhacs in my opinion. a must have for any rhac owner.
