Favorite 70's/80's Songs and Videos

I use to work for Daryl Hall and John Oates as a photographer and was brought up on the music of the 70's and 80's. So here's your chance to post your favorite song with or without a video. Feel free to add why you like it.

I was born in 81 but most of the music I love is from the 70-90 era. Mostly rock and metal but I’ll listen to anything that has a strong message and real instruments. This is one of my favorites from 1980.

Great song but was soooooooooooooo overplayed it made you sick for 10 years. Only now can I begin to appreciate it. Good choice!

Forever Young by Rod Stewart and Deuces Are Wild by Aerosmith are the most special to me. My parents constantly played these and sang them to my sister and I. Now I play them for my kids.

I generally enjoy most things by Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, The Beatles, AC/DC, Queen... some Stones. Most "golden oldies" and Motown stuff too.

I was born in the 70's but growing up it was Wham, Depeche Mode, Cyndi Lauper...and so on! But my all time favorite was Depeche Mode. I actually saw them in concert last year when they came to Toronro. Let me tell ya, it was an excellent concert- they still have it going on! :sweeet:

That song is so freakin awesome ! The other thing about it, its really time less. If you didn't know what era it was from, you could guess 70's, 80's, 90's or whenever since then, really !!

Sheesh, I think it would be easier to answer what I DIDN'T like, since I like almost ALL of it.

It is also the best music to listen to while working. When I painted rooms or laid tiles, the 80's blaring, and you almost dance along while working, so much more fun that way :)

When I work out...the 80's are on!! And I can go for hours!!

When I just feel like letting loose, Smeagol and I have our own little 80's party, music a couple of drinks, dancing and singing along. Sometimes it ends up in a little craziness like a 3 am "80's dress up session" which resulted in this (hair would have been BIGGER if I had any hairspray left..LOL) >>>>

It has also resulted in the brilliant idea to cut my own hair, give myself bangs again (3 am, while listening to the 80's). I remember waking up next morning and thinking, OMG, did I really do this? Running to the mirror, yup, I did !!! :rofl:

Most of my favorites are metal. I’ve seen Metallica twice. Avenged Sevenfold, Ghost, GnR, Alice Cooper and lots of others!

I love most of all of it :) Something for every mood and nothing better then to play a mix of all of it and go through all of the different emotions and memories the songs evoke !

Anything by Rick Springfield was in my record collection, but I love all kinds of music. Just some of what I can recall from the 80’s off the top of my head....Blondie, Queen, Van Halen, Def Leopard, White Snake, Guns & Roses, Metallica, Twisted Sister, Oakridge Boys, Alabama, Bocephus, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Duran Duran, Boy George, MC Hammer, MC Scat Cat, and loads more.

I grew up in the 80’s, but I’m a big fan of the 60’s and 70’s music as well and have a pretty good cd collection...as well as my old vinyl. I still listen to classic rock stations.

I quoted you here Zina as you might be one of the few to understand. I guess it's come time to kick MR Snakes off BP. I'm afraid my music geekness with this next one will qualify. This is by far my favorite group of all time....and they're featured in two pretty recent and very popular movies. I lived in Europe for almost 2 years at the height of this groups popularity and they really were music gods in most of the world. You couldn't go 30 minutes on a pop station without hearing one of their songs. And the concerts? I don't know another band that attracted/attracts kids as young as pre-school all the way up to grand parents. It was nice knowing you all.
