As per request, here is Rusalka, my female yellow anaconda.

As a side bit of trivia, a rusalka is a female undead water nymph that lures her victims with her beauty and drowns them in the lake. I thought it fit her. :) (..minus the undead part that is..)

I have faith in her. She settled down after a few minutes actually. I'm going to work with her several times a week.

Both her parents are calm, and the breeder (very nice guy) says this behavior is normal for young ones.

lol... yeah I was joking about the 'it's just an amazon water boa, mom!' -before I bought her.

My mom actually held her. :O -luckily when the conda was still acting civilized. :)

The gloves were $6 in the garden section of the hardware store. Very handy.

    Re: Conda pics
Yellow anacondas do not attain the sizes of the greens. Males average 6-8', and females 10-12'.. still large, but not 20'.

I think she'll tame down fine.

I gave her a big mouse last week, but when I have small rats, I'll give her those instead.

Thanks, she's a great girl! She is taming down very nicely. Last four handling sessions were either bite free, or just one or two half hearted nips. Did you see the pics of my male granite anaconda? He's a sweetie too.. his pics are in general herp with pics of my male dumeril.
