The prettiest snake I have.
I can't help sharing these photos, because I don't take her out for pictures very often. She seemed to be in a nice mood today!
12 year old female Aru green tree python. She was a retired breeder and came to me. The blues between her scales on her head are real, not photoshopped. The natural sunlight makes all her colors very clear. The LED lights in her cage dull them out considerably.
I also posted a mundane video of her on my instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/BrVyPWGgEvQ/
These are taken with my iphone 6 (as are all the other photos on my instagram LOL)

The prettiest snake I have.
Yep ... it's rather an understatement to say that she's 'pretty'.
:)
She'd look amazing on a black background !!
Maybe you could photoshop the background to black ( unless someone's watching and does it for you ) ;)

It's hard to beat a great looking green tree python! That's an awesome example of an Aru.
Re: The prettiest snake I have.
Hi Red... your girl is by far the prettiest GTP I have seen. Absolutely gorgeous, especially that beautiful blue coloring. I am in awe!!! :omg:
Re: The prettiest snake I have.
That is a beautiful animal.
Re: The prettiest snake I have.
“Pretty” is such an understatement...she is stunning! I’ve looked at the GTP’s with blue scaling for years and this is by far the best example I’ve seen. Definitely on my wish list. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you!!
I also just wanted to say wow, a few of your snakes are older than me! I'd love to have a snake of those ages.

I bought my first boa in 1991 (when I was 20) and have continuously kept snakes since then...now 27 years later. Eventually you’ll get to where you have snakes these ages...you just have to get older to do it. :D

Still I think that's some dedication, there aren't many people who keep the same snakes for that long! Most decades-long snake enthusiasts have still sold the snakes they first started with. Makes me wonder which snakes I'll still keep by the time I'm 50 or so- the current plan is all the present ones until they've passed away! Haha

My collection has grown and shrunk over the years. The most I had was in 2000 when I had 42 snakes with a number of different species. That’s also when I was breeding my boas. In late 2001 life took a hard turn and I had to start significantly downsizing, simply didn’t have the income to afford proper care for the number of snakes that I had. I dropped down to less than 10, the ones that were truly like my kids....I just couldn’t part with them. The keepers included the oldest ones I have now, plus my original male redtail that passed away last year at age 26 and my female cornsnake that passed last month at age 16.
No matter what other species I added, my two boas were my first loves and they were always destined to live their lives with me. That said, there are a few I sold that I wish I had kept. I’ve always regretted parting with my Cuban boas (Morticia & Gomez) and my jungle x coastal carpet cross (Byron). Even now I keep an eye out for Cuban boas...and I’m always drooling over the different carpets.

Re: The prettiest snake I have.
I would have named her blue berry... Such an amazing looking animal. To only dream.... for now.
Re: The prettiest snake I have.
Soooo beautiful!!! My 14 year old (herp loving child) really wanted one of these for her FFA curio cabinet vivarium project. The enclosure would have worked for the snake, but I talked her out of it because (a) they are pricey and (b) my research showed that they are not very docile. My daughter was already upset that her rescued BP has turned out to be very bitey and not friendly. I pointed her towards a chameleon, who has turned out to be a very friendly little guy and a better choice. But she still very much wants one of these beautiful snakes one day.
