New Reptile Basics 2x3 set up
    https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0d5b9fbf61.jpg

Yesterday I received my Reptile Basics 2X3 with LED bar cage and so far I couldn’t be happier with the set up. It took 3 weeks (to the day) for the cage to arrive on my front porch but I think it till be totally worth it. I live in a cold dry state and was having troubles keeping the humidity consistent in a glass enclosure (you can see the little patch of stuck shed behind his head). It’s only been a day so who knows how it will be in the future but the humidity and temps have been consistent.

I have a Pro Products RHP installed on the left side of the tank connected to a Herpstat Redline. The temperature probe hangs down just to the side of the panel. I called Pro Products with the cage dimension and average ambient room temperature and they knew exactly which panel I needed.

After I got it set up and the temps came up I put my ball python in and he explored every corner of the cage for a few hours. Checking out every hide and even climbed through the fake leaves. This morning there already was a few pieces of his shed on the cage floor that had fallen off.

So far I am completely impressed with this set up and can not recommend it enough. The RHP was a pain to install on the top but when it’s all done I couldn’t be happier. If you are having temp or humidity issues I would seriously consider saving up and looking into one of these. I know it’s only been a day with it and I’ll keep updating on this thread, but if you are on the fence about ordering one, do it!

I just received my second Reptile Basics enclosure yesterday. How about that!

I now have two of them, and I completely agree, they are excellent.

I was previously buying from AP, but got real tired of the long, LONG, wait for the enclosure to arrive. Never again, it's all Reptile Basics for me from here on in.

How did you put the heat panel in? I have a Pro-Products panel that I need to install as well and I'm looking for ideas.

Thank you for posting, looks absolutely fantastic! I'm waiting on a PVC cage from another seller but have seriously been considering the Reptile Basics cages. 3 weeks isn't a bad wait at all! Did the 2x3 come assembled? I'd be getting the 4x2x15" size and I'm pretty sure that comes in a flat pack.

    I got a 2x3x1 and a 4x2x1 and both came fully assembled.

They really are pretty nice. At first I didn't think I'd like the acrylic swinging doors, but now I'm totally sold. My AP T8s all have the sliding glass, and they rattle incessantly. Even if I walk by the snake room I hear then rattle. I needed to wedge Q-tips in there to stop it but it looks hockey. The swinging acrylic, no problem.

The heat panel was a pain. I had to get smaller screws from Home Depot. Then I put the panel on top of the cage where I wanted it and drilled small pilot holes through the cage where the holes are for the screws in the panel. Screwing it in was a HUGE pain because I kept losing the screw in the panel itself and would have to fish them out. The screw hole in the panel don’t have walls down the side if that makes sense and it’s anout an inch into the panel. So you can lose the screws inside the panel if not careful. That was the hardest part about setting up and took me an hour.

It did arrive fully assembled and safely packaged too.

If you drilled the pilot holes, got new screws, flipped the tank upside down and had a screwdriver with a magnetic head to hold the screws it would make it a low easier. I got short screws at home depot that don’t go all the way through the tank

Good ideas, all! I was thinking to use a blind nut, but that would take a bit more craftsmanship and time.

I’m also waiting on my new Reptile Basics cage and Pro Products heat panel. For my existing Monster cages, I also placed the panel on top and predrilled the holes, but I used shorter bolts I purchased. I dropped the bolts through the top of the cage and secured the panel with acorn nuts on the inside. This way if I ever need to remove a panel, I don’t have to unstack the cages.

I’ve also got my panels secured with shorter machine screws threaded into T-nuts in the cage ceiling. Magnetic screwdrivers are super helpful for that installation. I also recessed the T nuts slightly using a 3/4” Forstner bit

If this doesn’t work out in the long term I’ll have to try the acorn nuts for sure

    congrats!!

I have two of the same cages and I like them a lot. I like how they come pre-sealed and pre-built too, because I'm not handy at all and it takes me absolutely forever and a lot of effort to build anything simple LOL. And the pvc surface is smooth and makes for easy cleaning. My other cages from pvccages.com have a bit of a rough surface.

I don't think reptilebasics had these cages available until recently, maybe in the past year. Previously, everyone had to wait months for an AP cage, or I bought from pvccages.

What sort of substrate do you use and what’s the best method you have found for cleaning your cages? I was thinking about that while putting the RHP in.
