    50gallon octagon...
Is a Fifty gallon octagon tank good for any kind of snake? I'm curious because I just had one given to me for free and was wondering if I could put it to any use. The reason I'm relunctant to put a snake in it is that there wouldn't be any cool side to it and the ambient temps might be hard to control.

Hm.. if it's tall and wide enough, perhaps a tree snake of some sort.

It's probably fairly small.. maybe more like an amazon tree boa.

Three feet by four and half feet. I was thinking maybe a BRB. What do you think?

BRBs are much more terrestrial than something like an amazon tree boa. I wouldn't use it for a BRB. Is it three feet long, or tall?

Yeah that wouldn't be ideal for a BRB in my opinion. They grow fairly long, so something actually longer than 3' would be ideal, and not nearly so tall as that.

Well then. There goes one idea. I was thinking of just using it for an excercise tank. I don't really want a tree boa or python. I was tagged by one of them once and it wasn't pretty. Ouch!!!

I don't really know too much on them, but I did a google and they seem really small. Wouldn't that size tank be too big for them? Maybe 9-10 of them would be cool in that big tank? I am going to close off the top of it and take one side of the glass out to put a screen door in for easier cleaning, so feeding them wouldn't be too hard. I'd hate to reach all the way down in that thing to feed and water anything daily.
