Bela is around 26 inches, and is at 990 grams right now. I hope to breed her next year! My largest male is around 5 pounds. Not sure about my BCi; he moves around too much, and my little BP guy, I would estimate hom to be around 750g.

No, nothing wrong. Don't get hung up on weights, all snakes are different. As long as you're feeding an apropriately sized food item every 7-10 days your fine. ;)

Monty is about 14 months old. I weighed him today and he is 513 grams. Is this an unhealthy weight. I wonder because some of yours are twice his weight and the same age.

I heard that feeding them to fast to make them grow quick for breeding was not good because it takes years off of their life. Is this true? What is a good weight for a yearling male?

you have to keep a steady schedule monty, i feed mine every saturday, he's still a baby ,for yours i'd experiment within 7-10 days, anything longer is pushing it, doesn't he get hungry and look for food? friday night and mine is cruising everywhere looking for dinner

Okay, just a couple of the larger females. I saw the pic you posted before of your big female, don't think you mentioned weight at the time.

Dex is 4 years old (born June-July 03) and weighs 910grams. He's just over 36".

He may have gotten bigger, but at one point he just refused to eat. I started with mice then worked up to small rats and one day he just wouldn't eat the rat. This was also during November-April when some people say BP can be a pain to feed. He only started eating again when I tried a mouse. Until recently he was eating 3 mice but now he's eating rats again. I just fed him 2x40g small rats, does 1x100g medium rat sound too big for him? These are frozen of course.

    Re: Offical BP Weigh In!!!!!
Your male Ball Python doesn't need anymore food than what one of those 40g rats can provide. The rest is just waste and will come out the back end. A 100g rat would easily cause another fast, like you just experienced. Stick with smaller meals once per week and he should eat consistently.

Our biggest is a normal female named "Big Bertha." She weighs in at around 4300 gr and is probably 10 years old. She is just a pet now; she had to have surgery last year when several eggs became impacted so now she can't ovulate anymore. She is the sweetest snake!
