Just a friendly FYI...Those dial style analog thermometers and hygrometers are unfortunately very poorly made. They are wildly inaccurate, sometimes up to 15%. So I would get yourself a digital one or two. Many of us use Accurite brand. They can be found at Wal-Mart for about $10 or on Amazon, etc...

Thanks. Hehe I knew someone was gonna say something about that analogy being right there. No worries have a digital one right beside it. It's just not in the photo. But I will be getting another one today called Acu-Rite Wired Digital Thermometer with Humidity Gauge. I believe this is the one that you were referring too.

I personally use a blend of eco earth and repti-bark. I've been using it for years. It holds humidity well, absorbs odor well and looks naturalistic.

Its desert snow or something similar to that. Its like recycled paper made into those little clumps. Ive used it before with my BPs with no issues.

Everything causes cancer in California.
The reason it says that is because 'Wood dust' can cause cancer according to prop 65 in CA. Aspen bedding also causes cancer by that same Prop.
Paper or wood containing wood dust. lol 9_9;

It's a bit ridiculous. Even coffee has been listed as cancer causing. Take it as you will.

I use paper towels. Super easy to clean; once she soils them I just roll ‘em up and throw them out before wiping down the cage. And my snake doesn’t seem to mind them either 🤷:cens0r:♀️

Yea that's what I've been using . I believe thts the best option. My main concern was substrate getting into his mouth while he eats. I didnt want that to happen at all.

Do you rip them up? I just lay down the sheets so they’re flat. I don’t think if some paper towel was chewed on / ingested it’d be too bad though. (:

No I dont mean the paper towels getting into his mouth. I'm tlking about the other types of substrates getting into his mouth. The ones that come in pieces. I lay the paper towels down just as it is. And I double up on the cool side because his water bowl is on that side. Just in case he spills it (like he did last time) there will be extra paper towels to absorb the water.
